Johnny Gordon Sr., Crosby

CROSBY-Services for Johnny Gordon, 91, who died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sweet Home Church in Rosetta with the Rev. Frank Sullivan officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo CME Church in Crosby.

Mr. Gordon was born Oct. 3, 1916, in Mississippi, the son of Willie and Ethel Gordon.

He was a long time truck driver and buffalo soldier who served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva B. Gordon; parents, one sister, Beatrice Williams; one brother, Thaddeous Gordon.

Survivors include four sons; Johnny Ray Gordon Jr. of Gloster, Robert Venson Gordon of Meadville, Jerry Lee Gordon and Phillip Gordon both of Crosby, four daughters; Lula Mae Gordon and Patricia A. Faust both of Crosby, Barbara A. Gordon of Woodville and Pamela Gordon of Ferriday; twenty grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
