Frances L. Simmons, Crystal Springs

CRYSTAL SPRINGS — Services for Frances L. Simmons, 85, of Crystal Springs, who died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. today at Stringer Family Chapel.

Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Stringer Family Funeral Home in Crystal Springs.

Mrs. Simmons was a native of Copiah County. She was a former resident of Natchez and Key West, Fla. and moved back to Crystal Springs in 1964. Mrs. Simmons was a retired beautician. For several years she made wedding and birthday cakes. She was a member of Crystal Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Simmons was active in many civic and church organizations.

Survivors include her sons, Victor L. Smith and wife, Linda, both of Crystal Springs and William Michael Simmons of Byram; half-brother, Hugh Jenkins of Hazlehurst; half-sisters, Penny Buckley of Byram, Shirley Sessions of Atlanta and Sarah Crones of Norfolk, Ark.; grandchildren, Jeff Smith and wife, Gigi, Eric Smith and wife, Aimee, Rachel Simmons and Erin Simmons; and five great-grandchildren.
