NATCHEZ — Services for Alfred Wesley Sr., 78, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. James C. Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Wesley was born Jan. 7, 1929, in Natchez, the son of Fleming Wesley and Luella Thomas. He attended Overton School. His employment included Plough, Inc. of Memphis, Tenn. and Diamond International where he was a steam press operator. He retired in 1989. Mr. Wesley was a formal deacon, choir member and Sunday school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Leola Leverson and Annie W. Reed; brother, Henry Wesley; and daughter, Pamela Cartwright.
Survivors include his daughters, Mary Wesley and Angela Wesley, both of New Orleans; sons, Alfred Wesley Jr. of New Orleans and Rodney Wesley of Jackson; sister, Fannie Butler of Natchez; brother, Joseph C. Wesley and wife, Julia, both of Birmingham, Ala.; special niece, JoAnn B. McCullen of Natchez; and other nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Wesley Jr., Leon Butler Sr., James E. Wesley, Al Reynolds, Joe Bruce and Sandy Reed.
