FERRIDAY - Services for Dorthy Whitaker Lee, 78, of Ferriday, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mrs. Lee was born Oct. 23, 1929, in Jacksonville, Fla., the daughter of Dorsey “Whit” Whitaker and Judy Whitaker Cason.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy Whitaker; and daughters, Cheryl Ann Womack and Julia Adams.

Survivors include her husband, John Lee Jr. of Ferriday; daughters, Marie Forbes and husband, John, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Cecile Childers and husband, Jim, both of Palaka, Fla. and Sharon Phillips of Florida; brother, Tommy Whitaker of Metairie, La.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
