Earnest Darnell Woods, Natchez

1969 - 2007

NATCHEZ - Services for Earnest Darnell Woods, 38, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at University Medical Center, in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Milford Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Alsworth officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Woods was born Feb. 10, 1969, in Adams County, the son of Samuel “Tack” Woods and Leola Woods. He was employed with Natchez Fire Department, Natchez Cemetery and Woods’ Mobile Car Wash. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Woods was a member of LF&C Society, Cloverhill No. 13 Masonic Lodge MBPB&F Society. He loved to ride his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Samuel Woods Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Shavelle Woods; sons, Giovanni, Travis and Chadrick; daughter, Chelsea; stepdaughter, Chelsea Washington; brothers, Charles, Alonzo and Ameal; and sisters, Lena Leola and Jacqueline.

Pallbearers will be the Natchez Fire Department.

To Darnell Woods' wife, children, and other family members, I cannot find the words within me right now to express what I feel will bring you comfort at this time of bereavement.

So, I leave you with the following message -- I hope you find comfort in it:
