Marie Howard

Services for Marie Howard, 90, of Waterproof, who died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Lee Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery, in Waterproof, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Howard was born Sept. 20, 1916, in Waterproof, the daughter of Hosea and Susie Nichols Brown. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Howard.

Survivors include a brother, Clevaldn Brown Sr. of Waterproof; sisters, Rosie Turner of Waterproof, Bessie M. Bailey of Delhi, La. and Thelma Simpson of Las Vegas, Nev.; godson, Donald Brown of Waterproof; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
