John Allen Darsey

Services for John Allen Darsey, 68, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Father David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at Elmo Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Mr. Darsey was born April 2, 1938, in Natchez, the son of John Robert and Mary Martello Darsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Lore of Vidalia and Lisa Huffines and husband, Danny, of Natchez; six grandchildren, Byron Prince, Ashley Prince Painter and husband, Joel, Laura Huffines, Caitlin Huffines, Anna Huffines and Daniel Huffines; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Painter and Raef Painter; two sisters, Rose Marie Payton and husband, James, of Baton Rouge and Frances Joffrion of Natchez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Reynolds, Rickey McKenzie, James Payton Jr., Mark Taunton, Harvey Prather, Charles Donaldson, Paul Bourke and Sam Gaines.
