Susie M. Dorsey Jackson

Services for Susie M. Dorsey Jackson, 77, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Greater Saint James Baptist Church with the Rev. James E. Brooks officiating.

Burial will be at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Jackson was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Natchez, the daughter of Major and Amelia Dorsey.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; her parents; two brothers; two aunts and three uncles.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Joseph Jackson Sr. of Natchez; her sons, Joseph Jackson Jr. and wife, Angie, Jerry L. Jackson, all of Cleveland, Ray E. Jackson, Larry Jackson and wife, Pat, all of Natchez, Lonnie Jackson of Tulsa, Okla., and Kenn Jackson and wife, Jackie, of Oklahoma City, daughters, Yvonne Jackson of Cleveland, Mary L. Carradine of Midwest City, Okla., Gloria J. Jackson and Marilyn Logan and husband, Joe, all of Natchez; sister, Louise Russell of Natchez; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Fred Jackson and wife, Janice, of Chicago; sisters-in-law, Carrie Gibbons, Lovella Davis, both of Natchez and Henrietta Jackson of Chicago; special cousins, Leona Pettis and Charlotte Jones, both of Natchez; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lionel Anderson, Michael Green, James Fletcher, Patrick “Derky” Gibbons, Roy Sessions, Elbert “Mo” Lyles and Harvey Owens.
