MONTEREY — Graveside services for Donald Preston Burley, 81, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. today at Scott Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Crum officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Mr. Burley served in the U.S. Navy as a dive bomber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Franklin Burley Sr. and Gladys Cross Burley; brother, Hansel Burley; and sister, Adeline Blount.

Mr. Burley is survived by a brother, Billy Burley.

Pallbearers will be Theo Burley, Michael Burley, Bill Burley, Lee Dale, George Watts and W.L. Paul.
