James E. Calhoun

FERRIDAY — Services for James E. Calhoun, 56, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Ferriday, who died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Andrew Martin Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Mr. Calhoun was born May 28, 1951, in Natchez, the son of Elijah and Verlena Wilson Calhoun. He was a custodian for the V.A. Hospital in San Antonio. Mr. Calhoun served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1973 to 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Henderson Calhoun of Ferriday; his sons, James Calhoun Jr. of Ferriday and Anthony Calhoun of Drum, N.Y.; brother, Julius Wilson and wife, Chrystal, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
