Richard Monroe Moncrief Sr.
FERRIDAY — Graveside services for Richard Monroe Moncrief Sr., 71, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Natchez, will be 3 p.m. today Hedrick Cemetery, in Eva, La., with the Rev. Ralph Webber officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time today at the cemetery.
Mr. Moncrief was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Vidalia, the son of Lloyd Richard Moncrief and Lula Ferrell Moncrief. He was a retired lab clerk with International Paper Company. He was a life long resident of Vidalia, a former member of the Moose Lodge of Vidalia, a former scout master with the Boy Scouts, President of the Little League Baseball of Vidalia, secretary of the Union for 30 years with the company he was associated. Mr. Moncrief was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Dinah Bergeron and Doris Johnese.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Gordon Moncrief; sons, Richard M. Moncrief Jr. and Charles Randall Moncrief, both of Vidalia; brother, Raymond Moncrief of London, Ky.; and sisters, Lula Mae Caldwell and Brenda Temple, both of Vidalia and Louise Emerson of Troy, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Don Hamilton, Gary Frith, Gary Caldwell, Joe Caldwell, Russ Caldwell and Brent Martin.
