John Edmond Book

ACME — Services for John Edmond Book, 87, of Acme, who died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Acme Free Methodist Church with the Revs. Lloyd Trisler, Bobby Ratcliff and Richard Motes officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Visitation will be begin at 5 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Book was born July 30, 1919, the son of John Arthur Book and Corra Jones Book. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Book also served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Anita Morace; grandson, Dallas Morace; brothers, Leroy, Curtis, Ira, Jr., Tillman and Tilton Book; and sister, Artie Pecanty.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Harper Book of Acme; daughters, Mary Green and husband, Rick, of Applin, Ga., Clara Haynes and husband, Mike, of Martinez, Ga., Robbie Crocker and husband, Harold, of Kerriville, Texas, Ruth Mott and husband, Royce, of Acme and Paula Daniels and husband, Harold, of Tylertown; sons, James Book and wife, Michelle, of West Virginia and Bundy Morace and wife, Sharla, of Monterey; sisters, Lovine Morace, Catherine Paris and Judy Haffpaier; brothers, Sheirly, Ray and Shelby Book; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny Tisdale, John Pecanty, Carl Pecanty, Levere Book, Waylon Book, Glen Book and Gary Book.
