Services for Eshell McCraney, 38, of Los Angeles, who died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, will be noon Saturday in Los Angeles.

Burial will follow with Angeles Funeral Home, Los Angeles, officiating.

Ms. McCraney was born Oct. 6, 1968, in Ferriday, the daughter of Rose McCraney Banks and Vernon Lee Johnson Sr.

Eshell received her education and graduated in Los Angeles. She was employed with the United States Postal Services.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Lee Johnson Sr.; grandparents, Anthony McCraney Sr. and Jelena Jackson Johnson; and guardian Lawrence Bullette.

Survivors include her mother, Rose McCraney Banks of Los Angeles; grandmother, Pricilla McCraney of Vidalia; step-grandmother, Verna McCraney of Ferriday; brothers, Robert Banks of Los Angeles, Vernon Lee Johnson Jr. and Arthur Johnson, both of Natchez; Darnell Hoggatt and wife, Dorothy, of Lawton, Okla., Jonathan Johnson and wife, Nannette, and Eric Johnson, all of Ferriday; sisters, Lashawn McCraney of Los Angeles and Ruth J. Walker and husband, Kenneth Ray Sr., of Natchez; aunts, Ruby M. Washington, Shirley McCraney and Deloris McCraney, all of Los Angeles, Barbara Ann McCraney of Houston, Texas, and Elizabeth M. Johnson and husband, Louis, of Ferriday; uncle, Roosevelt McCraney of Los Angeles; great-uncle, John Henry Jackson Sr. and wife, Ruby, of Natchez; great-aunt, Louise Lindsey of Natchez; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and a devoted prayer partner and everlasting friend, Derwin Brooks.
