Joseph Clyde Pecanty, Monterey
1918 - 2007
MONTEREY — Services for Joseph Clyde Pecanty, 89, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eva Church of God with the Revs. Gordon Finlay and Lloyd Trisler officiating.
Burial will follow at Tiffee Family Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Pecanty was born Feb. 14, 1918, in Eva, the son of Alfred and Laura Young Pecanty. He was a construction supervisor and a member of the Eva Church of God. Mr. Pecanty proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Natalie Pecanty; his parents; brothers, Ernest Pecanty, Elbert Pecanty, Harvey Pecanty and John Pierre Pecanty; and sister, Maudell Champlin.
Survivors include his son, Norman Pecanty and wife, Bobbie, of Monterey; daughter, JoAnn Pecanty of Natchez; sister, Annie Mae McNeely of Mayna; and brother, Raymond Kelley of Monterey.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Pecanty, Andre Pecanty, Perry Pecanty, Tommy Tiffee, Joseph Knapp and Alton Knapp Jr.
