VIDALIA - Services for James H. Taylor, 45, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church, in Vidalia, with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born July 29, 1962, in Pineville, La., the son of James Skipper and Cora Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother; one son, James K. Taylor; two daughters, Jeanett L. Taylor and Nishiekor Taylor; two brothers, Willie Taylor, all of Ferriday, and Gregory Taylor of Newellton, La.; one sister, Margaret Townsend of Cartersville, Ga.; and four uncles, Pete Taylor of Natchez, George Taylor, James Taylor and David Taylor, all of Ferriday.

To the whole family of James Taylor.
My name is Russell Wagoner. I knew James when I worked in Ferriday at my uncles store. As years passed, I became the mission pastor of Bougere Baptist Church in Deer Park. That is where I had the blessed privilege to lead James to the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation and was able to baptize him. He was always an encouragement for me in that he always had a smile on his face. May God strengthen you during your time of grief.
