Ruth V. Decker, Natcehz

NATCHEZ - Memorial services for Ruth V. “Babe” Decker, 94, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 14, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Services are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Decker was a beloved member of the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church where her cheerful presence will be sorely missed. She was a life-long resident of New York and was a resident of Natchez since 2001. She was retired from Western Union and was a member of the Staten Island Calvary Presbyterian Church in New York City. Babe enjoyed many years of membership in the South Shore Art Group, to which she was elected president. Her church family, friends and acquaintances remember and appreciate her for her concern and her generosity. She was universally liked and admired in her community and will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Roscoe C. Decker, in 2001.
Survivors include her cousins, Diane C. Fletcher and David Chase, both of Natchez, and Richard Chase of Los Angeles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
