NATCHEZ - Graveside services for Shirley Mae Watkins Read, 69, of Ferriday, who died Monday, April 14, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery with Myrtis Danzler officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.
Mrs. Read was born Nov. 16, 1938, in Harrisonburg, the daughter of Henry Ezell and Bertha Elizabeth Scruggs Watkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Stephens; one brother, Sherman Watkins; and one sister, Doris Watkins.
Survivors include two children, Anne Hardy and Dewayne Stephens; two brothers, Gene Watkins and Glenn Watkins; three sisters, Marie Brown, Leda Moore and Elvia Faulkner; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
