George Ellis, Natchez

1952 - 2008

NATCHEZ - Services for George “Fred” Ellis, 55, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 11, 2008, in Natchez, will be at noon Saturday at Murray’s Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Elijah Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Ellis was born Dec. 21, 1952, in Adams County, the son of Willie Joe and Mattie Ellis. He attended New York Training Schools and was employed with Louisiana State Penitentiary as a correction officer.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Edward “Billy” Ellis and Bennell Ellis.
Survivors include his mother; two sons, Bennell Ellis and wife, Tarnisha, and Markey Ellis, all of New York; three grandchildren, three brothers, Elder Willie Joe Ellis and wife, Estelle, and Alonzo Ellis, all of Natchez, and Aaron Ellis of Jackson; six sisters, Iris L. Hills of Jackson, Augusta Garmon of Gulfport, Geraldine Craig, Lessie Brown and husband, Al, Barbara Sims and Linda Ellis, all of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Uncle Fred, I'll forever remember those late night/early morning talks. Wish I could be there to pay my respects. May you forever rest in peace.
