James Mark Hollowell, Natchez
NATCHEZ - Memorial services for James Mark Hollowell, 45, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 13, 2008, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hollowell was born in Natchez and was a member of Washington Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he had been an avid outdoorsman. From riding ATVs along the banks of the Mississippi River and hunting deer and squirrel in the Homochitto National Forest to helping his brothers coach little league baseball, Mark loved being outdoors and around people. Mark also spent a number of years working as a painter in Natchez and considered it a privilege to have worked on many of the pre-Civil War era antebellum homes in the area.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Freeman Hollowell; grandfather, Willie Ray Sasser; and niece, Emily Hollowell.
Survivors include one daughter, Katy Huff-Hollowell of Huntsville; one son, Jeremy Wallace of Huntsville; his mother, Martha Hollowell of Vicksburg; grandmother, Susan Sasser of Vicksburg; three brothers, Donnie Hollowell of Natchez, David Hollowell of Vicksburg and John “Rusty” Hollowell of Purvis; one sister, Susan Hollowell of Vicksburg; and 10 nieces and nephews, Greg Hollowell, Jay Hollowell, Drew Hollowell, Morgan Hollowell, Daniel Hollowell, Eric Hollowell, Tyler Hollowell, J.D. Hollowell, Elijah Hollowell and Michael Hollowell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local church or charity of your choice in Mark’s memory.

Mark was a close friend for many years. He started work painting with me fresh out of high schooland we worked togather for many yearsoff and on . We partyed and hunted togather many times. Markwill be greatly missed by a lot of people but his memory will live on in my heart. Sincely, Jim

There's no friendship like the friendship of a brother. There were times I resented you for having to tag along, there were times when I thanked God you were there. Tears of grief fill my eyes and my prayers and thoughts are filled with your memory. I wish you were here. The special bond we shared will never be broken. Until we see each other again...Rest well little brother!

Donald, i was so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. i remember those times when Mark used to try and hang with us older boys. Tell David and your Mom that you are all in our prayers, and may God keep you all in his loving arms during this difficult time.

I used to live in Forsite when we were kids. Mark was the same age as my sister. Tell your Mon I am so sorry for her loss. Beth Aldridge Wilson

I am so sorry for your loss ; I loved Mark too . He could always make me smile . I will always miss him but I have many memories in which he'll always live.
