NATCHEZ - Services for Vernon A. Cavin Sr., of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Eric Pratt officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Cavin was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Wilkinson County, the son of Ralph and Leda Leak Cavin. He was employed as a pumper for Hellis Company for a long period of time. He was also a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lonny Dale Cavin; and two sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred T. Cavin; one son, Vernon A. Cavin Jr. of Wesson; and five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Terry Fisher, Charlie Fisher, Chip Cavin, Derek Cavin and Hesston Cavin.
