Robert R. Lowery, Natchez

Natchez — Graveside services for Robert R. Lowery, 72, of Vidalia, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Spencer officiating.
Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street.
Mr. Lowery was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Alaflora, Ala., the son of Robert Ernest and Velma Robinson Lowery.
He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army for 24 years, serving in Vietnam and and the Korean War.
Mr. Lowery was a local recruiting from 1970 to 1981 when he retired.
He was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Annette P. Lowery, two daughters, Teresa “Terre” L. Bryan and her husband Tom, of Natchez, and Robyn L. McElroy and her husband Sean, of Fairfax, Va., one son, Doug Lowery and his wife Donita of Natchez, a granddaughter, Sarah E. Bryan, one brother-in-law, Henry Pierce, of Pensacola, Fla., and three sisters-in-law; Mavis Bihary and her husband Bill, of Pensacola, Fla., Margie Jones and her husband Bill, of Monticello, and Betty Elliot, of Pensacola, Fla., and one special cousin, Rhonelda Blackburn and her family, of Brewton, Ala.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and to The Freedom is Not Free.

I am so sorry that we cannot be there during this time. You are all in our thoughts and our prayers. I am so glad that we got to see him last Saturday. It meant alot to us.
