The Otis and Susan Randall Family submit these thoughts with deep love and respect:

James Burden was a man who quietly fulfilled many jobs and roles. He stepped bravely to the plate to become the father figure to his sons and grandsons. He worked with them teaching them to perform a number of skills--- but mostly he taught them to love, enjoy, and get along with people no matter who they who helping are what they were doing. He didn’t just say go do it—He often worked by their side until both he and they were comfortable doing their chores. His wife “Babes” help him impart theses same ideals to his daughters and other grandchildren.
It was my great fortune for James to assume some what of father figure with my children; He was especially attentive to my younger son, Cliff who had recently lost his father in and accident. He supported him, taught him many things cheered him and expressed his concern and love for him in many ways. One of these pearls of wisdom was if the lord gives you a new day Always have some plan about how to use it. He extended this same concern for my older son and family. He was an exceptional friend to my husband and this friendship has been constantly extended to my entire family. Yes, there is a large empty spot in our lives here on earth and we have all been blessed by James long tenure on earth.
However, as God called James to join him in another abode we have to take comfort that God knew a big loving man who greeted each day with a plan. Just think God is guiding James plan and probably using him to help prepare the abode that he has promised us in the after this work on earth is done.
Remember friends and family, James had left us legacy with examples of good living, I Pray that God will continue to use this legacy in the many positive examples that James left us to follow.
