I sat by your bed and watched your face twitch. I saw the scared but tired look in your eyes. I saw the spasms in your hands and feet. I heard the slur in your speech, but your heart never ever skipped a beat. I looked past the fear in your face and saw the peace in your reflections. I didn't ask God to heal your body, I asked him to ease your pain. God looked around his garden; and saw an empty space, he looked down on earth and saw your suffering, your fear and your tears. God put his arms around you and lifted you to his chest and softly spoke, Bob it's time for you to come on home and rest. I will miss your email and phone calls. I will see you again on the the other side, in your mansion in the sky, where the streets are paved with pure gold...HEAVEN, a beauty beyond my imagination.
Your classmate(1965)and dear friend, your sister in Christ.

To the family of Robert Lee Gordon

Our Precious Friend~~~

A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved has been stilled.
A great big smile with
a witty sense of humor,
A friend you could depend on through bad and good times.
A place is now vacant in our hearts,
and we know it can not be refilled.
Only a friend like BOB could be all of those things.

But God saw our friend getting weary, and did what he knew was best,
He came and stood beside Bob and said with a charming whisper~~~~
"Come, my son and take your rest"

Our thoughts and sympathy are with you.

First, I'm happy to know that Jackie is well and doing fine. Second, Bob and I grew up in the same neighborhood. He, along with his family, were an inspiration to all who love christian values and friendships. I'll take this time to tell his loved ones that I still remember the good times...we'll all be together again, if not on this side, on the other.

With much love and respect,

Charles Powell
