Frances Corban White, Lafayette, La.

LAFAYETTE, La. - Services for Frances “Patty” Corban White, who died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at her residence, in Lafayette, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Morgan Allen officiating.
Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing “Amazing Grace,” “Ava Maria, “ “Rock of Ages,” and “Wind Beneath my Wings” for the services.
Private burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Jersey Settlers Cemetery, in Kingston, under the direction of Martin & Castille Funeral Home, in Lafayette.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
A native of Natchez and a resident of Lafayette for 32 years, Frances “Patty” White was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, a member of the Desk & Derrick Club of Lafayette and a “Pink Ladies” volunteer at Lafayette General Medical Center.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, who always wore a sweet smile and spoke kindly to all. Mrs. White will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James M. White Sr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Corban; and one sister, Helen C. Rush.
Survivors include two daughters, Sydney Ann Kelso and Lisa G. Cullen; one son, James “Jim” M. White Jr.; three sisters, Dorothy Calcote and Peggy Calhoun, all of Natchez, and Pat Evans of Minot, Md.; and two grandchildren, Gerald L. Kelso Jr. and Michael R. Kelso.

She was a kind lady and a special aunt and sister who reached out to others. She loved to travel and see new places but never forgot those closest to her. She took great joy in her children and friends. She lives on through those who loved her most.
