HARRISONBURG, La. - Services for Maggie B. Walton, 91, of Harrisonburg, La., who died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at LaSalle General Hospital, in Jena, La., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomy Greene officiating.
Burial will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Walton was born May 9, 1916, in Chatam, La. She was a member of Harrisonburg First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester L. Walton; son, Jimmy Ronald Walton; brother, Chris Brown; and sister, Rosa Lee Cockran.
Survivors include her daughters, Georgia Perrin and Patsy K. Nugent, both of Harrisonburg, Carolyn Tate and Linda Lowe, both of Jasper, Texas, and Sue McMullen of Auburn, Wash.; sons, George “Buddy” Walton of Sandy Lake, La., Ray F. Walton of Charleston, S.C., Roy Walton of Harrisonburg and Robert Walton Sr. of Urania, La.; 36 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jared Stewart, Jimmy Walton, Raymond Nugent, Robbie Walton Jr., Walton Bowers and Billy Bowers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Walton, Adrian Walton, Billy Ainsworth and Bubba Miller.
