Gertrude Cross Burts, Ferriday

FERRIDAY - Services for Gertrude Cross Burts, 87, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burts was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Ferriday, the daughter of Hugh I. Cross and Lena Rabb Cross. She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd M. Burts; her parents; three sisters, Inez Knight, Faye DeMoss and Myra McMillin; and three brothers, J.S. Cross, Howard Cross and Victor Cross.
Survivors include two sons, Hugh Burts and wife, Susan, both of Natchez and Benny Burts and wife, Diane, both of Baton Rouge; one granddaughter, Stephanie Moran and husband, Chris, both of Ruston, La.; two grandsons, Hugh “Bubba” Burts of Natchez and Thomas Allen Burts of Ferriday; two great-grandchildren, Blair Moran and Molly Ann Burts; and one brother, Hugh Ira Cross of Ferriday.
