Mattie Williams Luss, Natchez

1913 - 2008

NATCHEZ - Services for Mattie Williams Luss, 94, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Elder L.J. Bell officiating.
Burial will follow at Elgin Plantation Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the Kingdom Hall.
Mrs. Luss was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Adams County, the daughter of Henry Williams and Mary Bates Williams. She was a Jehovah’s Witness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Allen Luss Sr.
Survivors include five daughters, Willie Mae Butler, Gloria McCoy, and Barbara Sewell, all of Natchez, Pam Payne of Dallas and Cheryl James of Ontario, Canada; one son, Allen Luss Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; a child she reared as her daughter, Josephine Tucker of Natchez; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Hattie Williams of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Barbara, you and I have been friends for a very long time. Really like family! Mama Luss has been a "GRANDMA" to all my children as they grew up, AND lil' Ms Kennedy, my granddaughter. I Love you all. You know that. WE WILL SEE MAMA LUSS, SOON, WHEN SHE AWAKENS FROM SLEEP. Then, Death will be no more~Rev 21: 3, 4
