Adrian Glynn Day, Natchez
1940 - 2009
NATCHEZ — Services for Adrian Glynn Day, 69, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Dr. Edgar Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in Day Cemetery in Crosby under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Adrian Glynn Day was born July, 22, 1940, in Rosetta, the son of Harold Dewitt Day Sr. and Louise Dorean Tillery Day. He retired from Armstrong and Fidelity Tire Company as a relief booker.
He was a member of Morgantown Baptist Church, and he served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid sportsman, his grandchildren’s biggest sports fan and affectionately known as “Boo.”
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Day of Natchez; one son, Glynn Day and wife Darlene of Montgomery, Ala.; one daughter, Marcy Ann Day of Meridian; three step-sons, Brent Newman, Ronnie Newman and wife Kay and Chris Newman and wife Leona, all of Natchez; one step-daughter, Suzie Byrd and husband Allan of Natchez; five grandchildren, Malori Byrd, Ben Byrd, Hayden Newman, Grace Day and Aaron Newman; three sisters, Katherine Mixon of Baton Rouge, Midget Lambert and husband Brent of Gonzales, La. and Terry Day of Gloster; two brothers, Harold Day Jr. and wife Charlotte of Borne, Texas, and Butch Day and wife Linda of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dale Day, Greg Day, Tommy Ashley, Reggie Smith, Robbie Dollar, Ronnie Newman and Brad Brabham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Woodrow Dollar, Ivy Ray Thornton, L.C. Smith, Max Sturdivant, Billy Sturdivant, Charles Hinton, Frog Taylor, Willie Rymer, Jerry Herring, John Johnson and members of his Morgantown Sunday school class.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

I just wanted to let you know that my family is so sorry to hear of Mr. Adrian's passing. We lived across the street on Horseshoe for years until moving to TN.
