Sissy Cat Lee was recently crowned as Most Purrfect Cat 2009 at the Most Purrfect Cat Photo Contest sponsored by the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society. Sissy Cat is owned by Angela Lee of Bude, and raised $660 for the event. The first runner up raising $294 was Spot, whose owner is Ruth Nix. A total of 104 entries were received and more than $3,000 was raised for the Humane Society’s operating fund.

The Friends of St. Catherine Creek Refuge recently published their second cookbook, “Cooking with Friends 2” in an effort to raise money to build and environmental education center at the site. The hardback cookbook is a follow up to group’s original cookbook. The book can be purchased for $12 at the refuge or from any member of The Friends of St. Catherine Creek Refuge. The over 300 recipes in the cookbook are all new and were submitted by members of Friends of St. Catherine Creek Refuge and their families
