Kendrick Bates, who was born in Natchez, recently signed a football scholarship with the University of Wisconsin-Plattville, where he will play defensive back and running back. Kendrick is first person from Mississippi to sign at that college. He will also play basketball there. He had a 3.38 grade point average at Southwest College in McComb. Bates is pictured with his mother, Murlee Bates.
