I was totally against Obama from the start. However, if he wins, we need to support him just as well as we would support McCain. It's not about the candidate, it's about our country!!!

We can only hope the Lord once again intervenes in the destiny of this country. If not, then we get what we deserve after the coronation.

Godschild-

I agree that we should support whoever is in office (even though no one ever does it seems). I also believe that the President should support the American People. That his decisions in office should be what WE, the people who elected him, feel is right not just his own selfish views and beliefs. I think there should be a whole lot more voting done in this country. This is a democracy, a government that is supposed to be run by the people of the country, not just a select few. But it seems to be less and less the case as the years progress. BIG government ran by a select few. That's not what this country was founded on.

I am so excited by the numbers of people who have already voted!! I hope that tomorrow there is an even bigger turn out!! I don't care who you are voting for, JUST GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

Part of the real obama has reared his ugly head thru this entire campaign . He is not the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow . he could be the storm before the rainbow ! Just this morning it came to light his plans for American coal workers . BANKRUPT THEM! That's not putting Americans first . That's not taking care of the working people . Of course he never said he would help the working people he just says he would help the middle class and spread the wealth . I've been middle class all my life and I nor my family ever needed help from somebody elses pay check . obama is a con man and you liberals have fallen for his charms . Ask yourself, how did this middle class bi-racial man spend so much time in Kenja as a young man and still go to college? Harvard no less. That cost a lot of money . No child of mine could afford it . How did it really come about that obama is able to provide for his family so well all those years on the salaries he claimed he was making ? Was it just by accident that his adult years have been affiliated with such undesireables as rev wright , bill ayres, and the like ? Do you really believe mechelle obama has her views and they are different from his .?Of course that's not what he said was it? he said "she has her views and I have mine" . That could mean he agrees with hers . That's the way a con man talks . He doesn't say what he means and he doesn't mean what he says . Don't gamble with a smooth talking con man for president . He's the only one that will win ! Vote McCain/Palin

I say to you, this morning, that if you have never found something so dear and precious to you that you will die for it, then you aren’t fit to live. You may be 38 years old, as I happen to be, and one day, some great opportunity stands before you and calls upon you to stand for some great principle, some great issue, some great cause. And you refuse to do it because you are afraid.

You refuse to do it because you want to live longer. You’re afraid that you will lose your job, or you are afraid that you will be criticized or that you will lose your popularity, or you’re afraid that somebody will stab or shoot or bomb your house. So you refuse to take a stand.

Well, you may go on and live until you are ninety, but you are just as dead at 38 as you would be at ninety.

And the cessation of breathing in your life is but the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit.

You died when you refused to stand up for right.

You died when you refused to stand up for truth.

You died when you refused to stand up for justice.”

(Martin Luther King)

Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.

If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.

If you have no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain.

(Saadi)

My daughter ran away with another girl, when they were 16 years old. My God (the creator) lead me to them and placed them in my path. I drove straight from Natchez, MS to New York City, a place I had never been before, and when I pulled up to a stop sign 30 hours later, she drove past me. I know for a fact that God still performs miracles when you trust Him, even after you have begun to feel discouraged. Let go and let God.

The only person Obama is looking out for is himself. He's not even thinking about the future of his own children. He could care less. His goal has always been to make Obama #1 and he will not be complete until it is done.
Everyone that votes for him will live to regret it.
This is a good example of a wolf dressed in sheepskin.

I agree to a picture voter I.D. that could be linked up to a national computer, maybe one with a barcode that could be scanned to allow one to enter the voting booth, which could stop an individual from multiple voting in one election. A new I. D. voter reform could help to stop votes from deceased people and convicts.

I pray so hard that God will bless our home again and give us the right leader. But I'm afraid human error will once again interfere....as it has from the beginning. Remember God made a perfect world for us to live in and it was humankind that messed it up. Humankind would not listen to God then and it continues to this very day. How can we expect God to bless us when we have in every way possible destroyed His presence in our midst? I'll fight tooth and nail to have God return to our homeland. I pray you will too. We need Him desperately now.

Watch the machine when you touch the screen to make sure the candidate you select is the one that is selected. In some towns it's been reported that some machines jump to the other candidate when you touch the screen and the one you select doesn't get the vote. There is a go back button on the machine if it messes up or you can ask a poll worker for help. WATCH CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU HIT SUBMIT.

I think all of you should just vote for who you want. I'm an Obama supporter and I think that is the best person for office. Some of you are so sad. Barack will win on tomorrow regardless of what you all say or feel. Get over it!!! It's time for a change. No matter who wins there's always going to be fault found in whatever they do. There are things that both candidates have planned that I don't agree with but i'm going with the person I think will best serve this country. I guess you think it's okay to put someone such as Palin in office that doesn't have any experience or even a hint of knowledge of what's really going on. I don't care who you vote for but I sure hope that everyone gets out and vote.

fonkeytowngirl, I wish you would elaborate on your comments. What is it that you want to change? What is it that Palin doesn't know. How is Obama's experience better than Palin's? What, in your opinion, makes Obama the best for the job? I can't find any Obama supporters that can answer those questions so please give me some insight.

"Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves. Jim Jones, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Joe Stalin, Saddam, Mao Zedong, Kim Jong IL, and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time. All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers and followers. They created a personality cult around themselves, and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirer's souls, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life. Those men gave their followers hope! They promised them the moon, but alas, they invariably brought them to their doom. When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don't know it until it is too late."

I heard today that Obama's transition team is already working out the details of how they can back out of MOST of their promises becaue they are not economically feasible and cannot be accomplished.

HMMM...who would have saw that coming? In the end, if he's elected, you'll pay higher taxes, the economy will go down the tubes, and ultimately, the taxpayer suffers as with every Democratic regime...(only this time you have Pelosi).

Happybunny - I don't see how ANYONE could not see that coming - it is amazing the people that just believes everything he says - COME ON - these people that think they are going to get these big tax breaks will soon have a RUDE AWAKENING if he gets elected and I WILL say I TOLD YOU SO!! Even if they do get tax breaks - who do you think is going to pay for the higher taxes on the "rich" - THE CONSUMER!!!! They will jack up the prices and there will be lay offs to compensate for the higher taxes - THERE GOES THAT TAX BREAK!!! JUST PLAIN COMMON SENSE!!!! If people think the economy is bad then wait until he tries to implement HIS plan - you better have some canned goods in the pantry!!!! Basic economics 101 - you don't take from those who are producing and give it to those who are not producing - that WILL NOT boost the economy!!!!

What does that show you about him? What does it show that he will do anything just to make himself look good, and could care less about anything else. He is the beast forecoming to our demise with his lies and deciet, God help us all if this evil obtains the white house...Oh, and a more lighter note, will he change the white house to the black house???? A little election humor to cheer up all of my Republican friends:

President Clinton appeared in the Oval Office one morning to begin the work of the day. He was dressed in a fine suit, but to the dismay of the staffers, there was a pair of women's panties stuck to the shoulder of his jacket. As horrified as the staffers were, no one could summon the courage to approach the President. Finally Betty, his secretary took a deep breath and said, "Mr. President...I don't quite know how to tell you this tactfully, but you have a pair of panties attached to the shoulder of your suit." "Hell, Betty, I know that," snapped a visibly irritated Clinton. "I'm on the patch!"

Thank God this election is nearly over. May our nation continue to be blessed.

"Moreover, democracy not only lacks that soundness of judgment which is necessary to select men really deserving of their confidence, but often have not the desire or the inclination to find them out. It cannot be denied that democratic institutions strongly tend to promote the feeling of envy in the human heart; not so much because they afford to everyone the means of rising to the same level with others as because those means perpetually disappoint the persons who employ them. Democratic institutions awaken and foster a passion for equality which they can never entirely satisfy. This complete equality eludes the grasp of the people at the very moment when they think they have grasped it, and "flies," as Pascal says, "with an eternal flight; the people are excited in the pursuit of an advantage, which is more precious because it is not sufficiently remote to be unknown or sufficiently near to be enjoyed. The lower orders are agitated by the chance of success, they are irritated by its uncertainty; and they pass from the enthusiasm of pursuit to the exhaustion of ill success, and lastly to the acrimony of disappointment. Whatever transcends their own limitations appears to be an obstacle to their desires, and there is no superiority, however legitimate it may be, which is not irksome in their sight."

"In countries in which the poor have the exclusive power of making the laws, no great economy of public expenditure ought to be expected; that expenditure will always be considerable either because the taxes cannot weigh upon those who levy them or because they are levied in such a manner as not to reach these poorer classes. In other words, the government of the democracy is the only one under which the power that votes the taxes escapes the payment of them.

In vain will it be objected that the true interest of the people is to spare the fortunes of the rich, since they must suffer in the long run from the general impoverishment which will ensue."

The following was written by James L. Lambert, a Christian news commentator and I copied it from his column at onenewsnow.com. I know many on here claim to be Christians, and all I ask is that they read this and search their hearts:
While an Obama presidency admittedly would be historic, a person's skin color obviously shouldn't be a criteria for voting for that candidate. Religion -- especially the Christian religion -- has deep roots in this country. Yet it seems that many people who claim the Christian faith are casting their religious values to the curb in favor of being able to claim a role in "a historic event."

Rev. Adlai E. Mack, senior pastor and founder of Christians United Church in San Diego, is alarmed by this trend. It was during the early 1970s, while working toward his bachelor's degree from Princeton University, that Mack was introduced to moral dilemmas such as abortion. He was influenced by Dr. Paul Ramsey, professor of ethics, who decried the technique of ending human life so cavalierly in the womb.

According to the Life Education and Resource Network (LEARN) -- the largest African-American evangelical pro-life ministry in the country -- three out of five pregnant African-American women will abort their child.

Besides currently performing his full-time duties as a local pastor, Mack is a longtime Christian activist who routinely visits abortion clinics with the mission to persuade mothers to forgo terminating the life of their unborn child. Last week, Mack directed his thoughts to fellow believers in the church and to the black community at large.

He told this writer on Thursday: "If you're willing to sacrifice your babies, your children, and your business for Mr. Obama, you have that choice -- but I will not."

Mack continued: "If Obama wins, the babies lose. If Obama wins, your children will be discipled by homosexual [activists] in the public schools. If Obama wins, small businesses will suffer. Raising taxes would be the worst remedy during an economic downturn."

Rev. Mack notes that Senator Obama has the most liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate and is a longtime friend of abortion providers. Since joining the Senate in 2005, the Illinois senator has received a 100-percent rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America, the leading abortion advocacy group in the United States.

Furthermore, Obama has injected himself into the debate on gay marriage by denouncing Proposition 8, the California initiative that defines marriage as between one man and one woman. Most Christians agree that Christ himself has already defined marriage as between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4).

On election eve, Mack concludes by asking his fellow believers: "Are you willing to sacrifice [your beliefs, your convictions] for this one man?"

I ask: Are you willing to put Obama before Christ?

Reckless accusations of infanticide

Some people just don’t care who they hurt to advance their political agenda.

Accusing a loving father of two beautiful little girls of wanting to kill babies isn’t just wrong on the facts, it’s the most disgusting and manipulative kind of hate politics around. But anti-abortion ideologues with a long history of partisan attacks are still launching unconscionable ads smearing Barack Obama.

The attackers torture and twist logic and history by willfully misinterpreting votes by Barack Obama in the Illinois State Senate to come up with their wild accusation.

Here’s the truth about Barack Obama and the bill:

At the time Barack voted against a bill containing language designed to protect infants who were “born alive,” such protection was already on the books as Illinois state law.[1]
The accusations against Barack are so reckless that not even the Republican state senator who sponsored the bill will support them. In fact, he freely admits that “None of those who voted against SB-1082 favored infanticide.”[2]
The bill was opposed by many legislators and groups like the Illinois Medical Society because of the unintended impact it would have had on other laws and legal precedents in Illinois.[3]
Barack is on the record[3] saying that he would have supported a similar bill that came up in Congress -- but that didn’t pose a threat to a woman’s right to choose the way the Illinois bill did.[4]

Yes I will be glad when it's over.

I started this campaign knowing what would happen. That the only way the 32%-35% of the voters -- The Republicans -- have to win is to smear their opponents visciously -- otherwise Republicans would be the majority. If you, too, have finally noticed this about the Republicans you are totally right.

Every election, Republicans gross out a larger percentage of the electorate, and their party is shrinking quickly -- yet many find it impossible to believe that the simple "truths" the Republicans run on are mostly fibs and general thrusts they never quite get around to acting on.

John McCain obliged us but he also offered something Republicans usually don't -- he offered gigantic giveaways for votes by buying back the nation's worst debts.

But the slurs the party faithful used were noteworthy -- and low, and really poorly done. That is who they are and who they have been for a long time, God bless their poor souls.

I was right about what they would do:

He was a muslim.
He went to Madrassa.
He "hung out" with terrorists.
He hung out with dictators.
He hung out with genocide perpetrators.
He wasn't black, really.
He had no experience.
He was a socialist.
He was a Marxist.
He was a celebrity but nothing else.
He hung with Palestinian sympathizers.
He wanted to teach toddlers how to have sex.
He wanted to live-abort fetuses.
He wanted to make babies die for lack of treatment.
He was the most liberal ever.
He would tax and spend.
He would raise everyone's taxes.
His taxes on the rich will hurt middle class people by giving them a tax break.
He will force you to socialized health care -- a single payer system.
He will destroy the coal industry.
He is against clean coal.
He won't drill for domestic oil.
He won't allow offshore drilling.

All are between essentially and totally untrue, pitched to people who the politcians know are not motivated to figure out a lie -- who would not go to the trouble.

And if running a campaign is any indication of how one would run the country, McCain is a worn out old lying fool with even worn out lies, and Obama a genius of mobilizing masses and pushing focused agendas. So much for experience in the first battle.

Whoever wins, next year there will probably be a few fewer Republicans.

And if Barack Obama doesn't win, he will still be a better man by almost any yardstick than most of the folks that uttered the above statements.
