That's why I keep my back up gas space heaters for emergency heat and a kerosene heater for back up backup. When the power goes out so does central unit. It does give me a chance to wear my fur coat in Natchez if its snow or ice you'll see me in my fur.

every ice storm i've ever heard of has always turned into a cool spell once it gets to mississippi; kind of like tornadoes turning into straight line winds, i guess.

We have had ice storms here in Natchez. I didn't die, so I guess I lived through it.

My thoughts exactly....if I didn't live through it, I certainly wouldn't be responding to this poll!!! What about the 14 who said "No, never"??

We had a pretty good ice storm in Natchez about 20 - 21 years ago. It was no fun.

My family was stranded for 10 hours on the side of an interstate in Illinois because snow and ice. Not a fun thing to do.

The last big ice storm in our area I remember was in 1996.

Yep reneef, that was a doozie wasnt it?I believe it was 1989 I was lucky though, we had gas heat, a gas stove and a gas hot water heater! So we were comfortable except for wanting to murder each other after so many days stuck inside the house! lol

The ones that I remember here in Natchez were winter of 95/96, February 1989, and then one back in the mid 80's.

We were without power for 7 days in 1989. But we had some heaters so we didn't freeze to death. Kept the cold stuff in coolers outside, played lots of games and enjoyed the enforced togetherness.
