To the family. I am so sorry for your lost. My PRAYERS and THOUGHTS are with all of you. Carolyn will be missed. I have a poem for you;
THE DASH
I READ OF A MAN WHO STOOD TO SPEAK AT THE FUNERAL OF A FRIEND. HE REFERRED TO THE DATES ON THE TOMBSTONE FROM THE BEGINNING ... TO THE END.
HE NOTED THAT FIRST CAME HER DATE OF BIRTH AND SPOKE THE FOLLOWING DATE WITH TEARS, BUT HE SAID WHAT MATTERED MOST OF ALL WAS THE DASH BETWEEN THE YEARS.(1954 - 2008)
FOR THAT DASH REPRESENTS ALL THE TIME THAT SHE SPENT ALIVE ON EARTH ... AND KNOW ONLY THOSE WHO LOVE HER KNOW WHAT THAT LITTLE LINE IS WORTH.
FOR IT MATTERSNOT, HOW MUCH WE OWN; THE CARS ... THE HOUSE ... THE CASH. WHAT MATTERS MOSTIS HOW WE LIVE AND LOVE AND HOW WE SPEND OUR DASH.

I hope this gives you a little comfort.

To Jim and all of Carolin's family, my prayers are with you. I remember her from school so many years ago. Such sweet memories. We must all make that trip one day but like Patricia said in her poem, It's how we spend our dash that
counts. Hold on to your memories and she will always be with you.
