This is a horrible crime!! I hope they don't use the excuse of him being ADHD like all these other kids in the news who kill. He knew what he was doing and he should pay for his crime like an adult. My prayers go out to the family members who lost their loved ones.

ADHD does not make him a killer. I know a few adhd kids closely and they do not act out in violent ways. He is (as peaceout said) criminally insane. He needs to be put away for a long time with the death penalty on the table.

From what I've read, it seems this kid planned this out and was trying to set up his "best" friend, but then wound up killing him too. He's not insane, just EVIL. Hope he gets justice swiftly. Any SOB that would shoot his parents while they slept, makes me sick, hope he rots in HELL.

Sometimes I wonder why someone doesn't do a study on prisoners and test different diets on them, just to see if some of them would have a mental change after only being allowed to eat certain foods, or after certain foods are removed from their diets.

I also wonder if Conner Wood played a lot of violent video games. Was he diagnosed with ADHD? Bipoloar? Or Depression? And, was he taking any prescribed medications? Was there any history of parental abuse other than just regular discipline? Or was there a lack of parental discipline? Is there any history of his being sexually abused? He would be an interesting study for a bright psychiatry or criminal justice student/intern. Clareece?

Sorry Peace007 but what difference does it make if he did play violent video games or was diagnosed with ADHD or whatever. Kids know right from wrong and he was surely old enough to know. If my kids mess up, I don't excuse their behavior with excuses because they were taught right from wrong. I don't let them slide on anything if they mess up. Then I make them apoligize to whomever they have wronged even if that person is me. People today make too many excuses for kids or for their kids. I'm not going to do that with mine. Mine will be held accountable if and when they mess up.

His parents were not to blame for this. He was not beat up or mistreated by his parents. They just loved him, he was his mom's world! I guess we will never know what happened. I'm just glad Jerri & John are with God and they are not suffering. The same can not be said for Jerri's parents and sisters. She was the baby of the family and is truly missed daily!

ijohnson i don't know what the statistics are but..I would almost Guarantee you that it is higher for White kids killing there parents than black kids...Shoot those black mommmas don't play....I always said good thing my granddaughters mom isn't black..lol.....

This was all taken from "wikipedia". Sure, I didnt spend much time looking for specific details, but only wanted to make a point. The problem with most blacks are just that...themselves. The majority of the problems that are in the black community are directly influenced FROM the black community. All I keep trying to say is that I have no problem with a persons background and heritage, and relish the past. BUT, what are you doing for the future. Who is going to stop these senseless killings from happening again. This kid that killed my cousin and his parents was sick, but it wasnt seen. This, I believe was something that probably wasnt preventable. But, the kid that was shot playing dice with people in an area KNOWN for these kind of problems, and with a gun present???? Where are his parents? Who taught him right from wrong? These two incidents arent even comparable. One was sick in the head and deserves to never see the light of day again....the other was just ignorant and should have never been in that situation. I can guarantee you that my kids are not only taught right from wrong, but compassion, love and mercy. Quit worrying about teaching them what happened and be an example of what they should grow to be.

As for the recent shootings in Natchez, you are in no position to judge anybody. To state that the young man who got shot in the mouth was "ignorant" is totally out of line. You don't know him and you really don't know the circumstances surrounding the shooting NOR their lives.

However, since you mentioned that the Wood kid killed your cousin, please explain to me what his parents instilled in him? Who taught him right from wrong? From what I've read previously regarding this kid who murdered his parents AND best friend, he was a "normal-acting" teenager. I guess Conner Wood wasn't taught anything about compassion, love and mercy since he murdered them, based on your reasoning!?!?!? What did you teach or show him? He killed his parents and best friend -- don't make excuses for him. You say he was "sick in the head" . . . I think "evil" may be a better word -- like so many of you. He had to learn it somewhere.

If you and all the other racist posters don't have anything positive or viable to share to resolve this issue in the "black community" (that you've posted so much about), may I suggest that you mind your own business and focus your attention on some issues you really care about, like paving roads, criticizing City officials and celebrating Confederate heritage. We're not oblivious to the fact that you don't give a rat's behind about the Black community nor our children -- the majority of your posts reflect that fact.

Sick in the head? Yes, he is. Evil? I couldnt agree more. But was this a preventable crime? Who knows. What goes through peoples minds to kill their parents I cannot comprehend. This was a tragic situation, and my hope is that in some way shape or form we learn from it. This is what I keep telling you. You are the one who keeps throwing race into it. Besides, this is a white kid who killed white people. Why are you even here with your post of statistics? Was that not racially motivated? I gave statistics of all the races, and only wanted to point out the problem with the younger blacks. I am concerned about that age group. There is a lack of moral and character. Sure, its mostly in the black community, but it is also in the white and hispanic community also. The think i dont see in the black community right now is a strong ethical figure they can look up to. I think Obama is going to be a fine President, but the black community looks at him as he is white....i dont understand that. He could, and should be looked up to. There is Jesse and Al, but we both know their history or racial propaganda. All I would like to see ljohnson is for someone in the black community rise up and lead these young people to be the person they could truly be. Its not white people holding them back, but a moral decay within their own community. You can call me racist, whatever, and to be honest it really doesnt bother me....I dont have to deal with it. But if you want to make a difference in someone, make a difference in the life of someone around you. Take everything you have written here and teach it to the younger ones. Show them they have a chance. Right now they look up to drug dealers and thugs. Make a difference. We have to find something else to give them incentive than rap that talks about killing someone. I have 3 kids. Until they leave my home, I OWN them. I know where they are, what they listen to, WHAT THEY TYPE ON THE COMPUTER, and who their friends are. They DO NOT have a choice. If there is a question of something in their lives, the final say so is mine. They make good grades, are upstanding citizens in our community and church. If any readers can remember this far back. These kids came from GOOD HOMES, with all the $$$, and GREAT Parents just like you Mr. HUTTO. Tell Me, what was there excuse? They wasn't RAPPING and talking about SHOOTING, they DID SHOOT.

2. 10/01/97--Pearl,Miss.--Pearl High School(2)students killed, 9 injured, also KILLED his MOTHER.

4. 03/24/98--Jonesboro,Ark.--Westside High School (4) killed (10)wounded.
5. 05/19/98--Fayetteville,Tn.--Lincoln Co. High (1)Kill
6. 04/20/99--Littleton, Co.--COLUMBINE HIGH SCHOOL (15)killed, (28) wounded. They committed suicide, and had BOMBS.
Mr. Hutto, do your REASEARCH on the RACE that Committed these Horrible crimes and TELL me where they LIVED. Since you are so concerned about BLACKS. Seems to me these kids were white and they needed someone to reach out to them ALSO. Why dont we get the facts before we stereotype these black folks. We have major issues in our communities ALSO.

Let me clear something up. I was not saying that he had ADHD, I was refering to the cases on tv when kids would kill and their attorney would claim they killed because of having ADHD. My daughter is 18 and has had ADHD since she was little. So I know all about this condition. I hope this boy who killed his parents and friend gets life. He is a cold bloodied killer with no remorse at all for his actions. He didn't have voices in is head telling him to kill them, he planned it and does not deserve to be in our society.
