LAKE ST. JOHN — A late night fire consumed a Lake St. John house early Monday morning.
Concordia Fire District No. 2 responded to the blaze at 5792 Louisiana 569 at approximately 12:30 a.m.
When firefighters reached the blaze at the north end of the lake near the Tensas Parish line the house was completely consumed by the flames.

All that remains of the Lake St. John house at 5729 Louisiana 569 was smoking ashes and the shell of a car that burned up in an early Monday morning blaze.
Along with the house, the fire also destroyed two vehicles.
A corrugated metal shed and fishing boat were all that remained intact after the fire.
One of the victims, an elderly woman, received burns, and there were reports another victim may have broken ribs escaping the blaze, fire district officials said.
A cause for the fire has not yet been determined, officials said.

I know several people who live there, but haven't heard whose home.

I just hope that nobody was at home when the fire started. Being that there were 2 vehicles there is not a good sign. Hopefully nobody was injured or worse. Prayers go out to this family.

Lake St, John is big & there are many houses. Maybe tomorrow it will tell whose house it was!
Thankfully no one we injured or worse killed!
I do agree with ((csguidry)) the ND should be more spacific for the concerns of the families. There are ways they could state things without revieling actual names.

They can't print names people. Imagine learning that this happened to someone you loved by reading it online. They will wait till the whole family has been contacted.

I found out about a cousins death that way, by reading it in the paper. It was not good! So I would not want anyone to find out like that. That's why they can't release names until the families have been notified. I realize this was not a death thank god, but still.

I do know that it was a little house past Harmon's boat camp. Like you are going around the back side of the lake. One of the first houses you get to after crossing the bridge and going around the big curve.

ND could we possibly get some kind of update here?

How ridiculous some of you people are. READ THE ARTICLE. It said an elderly woman received minor burns and one person may have broken a rib trying to escape the fire. Now.... What is so hard to understand? So many of you saying "OH...I hope noone was hurt. OH.... why dont the ND tell us some details. Why dont you people pay attention to what you are reading, while you are reading it, instead of thinking about what comments you are going to post after you finish. If you have family living in that area, and you are SOOO concerned about them, try picking up the phone and calling them instead of bashing the Democrat.

Our prayers are with the victims of this fire.
Does anyone know if there is a way to help them out ?
Is there a fund set up to help them? A Church they attend
where we can donate money, items, etc. ?
If anyone knows of such, PLEASE post so that we can
DO something for them. Actions speak much louder
than words.
Thanks.
