Natchez superdelegate leaning toward Obama
Published Friday, March 7, 2008
NATCHEZ — City Attorney Everett Sanders may hold the fate of Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in the palm of his hand.
With the race for the Democratic nomination the closest it’s been in many years, it might come down to the vote of the superdelegates, which Sanders is one of.
Sanders’ eligibility for this position stems from his elected position as the national committeeman for the state of Mississippi for the Democratic National Committee.
“By virtue of that office I’m one of the superdelegates for the state,” Sanders said.
Sanders was elected to the slot four years ago.
Superdelegates cast their votes at the National Democratic Convention for whoever they’d like.
“It’s an argument going on and both sides to try to get the superdelegates,” he said. “Superdelegates become vitally important if neither of them is able to accumulate enough delegates.”
Superdelegates have been around for ages but have received special buzz during this election because the nomination could come down to their votes.
“There’s a certain amount of celebrity that’s been heaved upon the superdelegates,” Sanders said.
Right now he said he wants to vote for Obama. He will, however, pay attention to the results of Mississippi’s primary.
“I represent the vote here in Mississippi, although I’m not bound to follow the vote,” Sanders said. “However if I want to get re-elected…”
He said both Democratic camps have contacted him and he’s been most impressed by Obama.
“I’ve been impressed with Obama and his ability to generate the support among persons who have not participated in the electoral process before,” Sanders said. “In my lifetime, the only other time I can recall such excitement among young voters was when President Kennedy was running for candidate,” he said.
He said no matter who gets the nomination, it’s his job to make sure a Democrat wins the general election.
“That’s all I’m interested in, making sure the Democrats win in the fall,” he said.
He’s looking forward to going to the convention and he said his children are excited for him, too.
“We’re looking at history in the making (no matter) which candidate gets the nomination,” he said.

If these two are the best the Democratic Party can come up with, then they are in bad shape and should disolve the party immediately. Obama still wet behind the ears and Clinton that left the White House in disgrace. What an insult to the American voters.

Let's just wait and see what DIRTY Laundry that will come out about Obama.
As a registered Republican, I am going to vote for John McCain, but if a Democrat does go in, I sure hope it is Hillary. I just wonder how many of us Republicans feel the same way? I am yet to see a poll on Republicans, which Democratic candidate they would like to see in office, if a Democratic candidate goes into office? BTW I do base my opinion on who I feel will be the best candidate, not like why Rush would want Hillary to be candidate. I feel she would be best for the job, Not and easy candidate to defeat from the Republicans.

From what I've gathered from the media, the Republicans want Hillary to be the Democratic nomination because they feel confident that they can drag enough of her skeletons out of the closet to beat her.
As for Obama's dirty laundry, I guess we'll all have to wait and see what comes out in the wash between now and November, won't we!!!!
I can tell you this with GREAT confidence, any Democrat will be better than anything Republican. I don't think America would survive if McCain wins the Presidency. Four more years of a "George Busher" (with McCain at the helm) is not only scary but would be the worst mistake we as Americans could make.

According to Dick Morris , Bill Clintons former political advisor, he says quote "Hillary interned with Bob Truefet in the early 1970's in San Fransico, who was the head of the California Communist party at that time." when is the media going to vet Hillary?, after McCains October surprise? There is 1 other skeleton in Hillarys' closet that will come out of "THE CLOSET", in yet another October surprise.

Shedevil, one must first identify the problem(s) in order to formulate solutions. Those elaborate plans are often just that. Until those plans are implemented, well, you know the story.
I'm hoping Obama wins also, I don't think this country can sallow another Republican at this time (I know I can't).

Whether Florida and Michigan have all of their delegates counted after moving up the date of their primaries is more key to the race right now than one superdelegate's opinion.
Too bad we don't have a good Independent candidate running. I'm sick of both parties and their BS. It's all about who has the power now and not who represents the will of the people. I wish everyone would register as an Independent so candidates wouldn't be able to put us in a box and have a clue about what they should "pretend" to care about for campaigning purposes.

I have always voted democrat, but if Obama gets the democrate nomination, I will vote republican for the first time. i wonder how he would be sworn in, if he should get to be president, will he put his hand on the bible or will America be using the Koran.

winwin do you have ESP or are you referring to the rumor that Hillary is a lesbian? That one has been around awhile, and while it wouldn't surprise me, I don't think it's that big a deal. Either Dem. candidate will hasten the downfall of the United States. Both of them are pro-abortion, and that puts them way down on the food chain to me.

Everytime I question an Obama supporter on the issues, I can't get a straight answer on anything. I hear things like, "he's young" "he's polarizing" "he's energetic" and so on, but never anything regarding his stance on issues. Now maybe this says something for the people whom I am around but they are a very diverse bunch. The ones that do know where Obama stands on the issues are Clinton and McCain supporters. They can pick him to pieces but an Obama supporter can't do the reverse. This is becoming the norm in the people I talk with. Just observations, draw your own conclusions. If you support Obama, I suggest you learn where he stands on the issues and not a lot of fluff statements but hard facts. I've seen several change their minds after doing this.

He is all of the above, but I will not support someone whose complete platform I do not know. Even the media, who has loved him, has started to put hard questions to him. At one speech, the press began asking such pointed questions, his aides hustled him off stage because he had no answers. I think this was in NJ.

natchezgrandma--Let me preface this by saying that I am NOT an Obama fan. That being said Obama is not Muslim. He is a Christian. He did not use the Koran to swear in to office. That was the Senator from Minnesota. Obama being a muslim is an internet lie.
Then again, so what if he is Muslim. He fulfills all the qualifications needed to be president. Would it be a problem is he was one? Is it because that would make him different? All Muslims aren't bad or evil...granted some of them are very bad and evil...but not all. Then again, how many Christians are bad and evil?
Again, I am not an Obama supporter, but don't make your choice based on someone's religion or the lies that are spread on the internet. Make your vote an educated one.

Obama. Hillary. Anyone who thinks either of these morons can run our country is an idiot. You must be looking forward to the North American Union where our lives are run by Mexicans and Canadians. Have fun when you go to Taco Bell and you can't order unless you speak Spanish and you have to pay with Ameros. The worst problem we have in this country is the news media. Never will you get the facts from Katie or Bryant or whoever. The owners of the networks and newspapers are the most liberal left-wingers in this country and they have the money and power to steer the "sheeple" in any direction they want. Jesus people, use some sense and figure things out on your own. Don't believe anything you hear the talking heads on TV tell you.

notfromnatchez, I agree that all Muslims are not bad and I have nothing against them. The problem I have with Muslims is that the fanatics have taken over the religion (that is the impression), and have stated that they want anyone that is not Muslim to die. We all have our fanatics; the problem I have is that you don't see non-fanatic Muslims standing up and fighting the crazies. I assure you that if fanatic Christian groups were killing and stating that every other religion should be wiped out, other Christians would be taking them out. Until I see the Muslim religion aligning themselves with a civilized society, I would prefer they not be running the only country that will stand up against this type of nonsense.

Obama is wet behind the ears, He hasn't pulled his pants up enough or had any hard knocks. I don't trust a smooth talker/no action man when it come to being president. I guess the people who would vote for him are the same people when their pipes leak they would call a plumber that has fixed maybe 2 pipes in the last year, or when their car breaks that would go to a shade tree mechanic. Point is he has no experience

I am back. First Obama is quote unquote BLACK, that the first problem and most people have a problem with that. Hillary is a WHITE woman, which is the second problem, but either one would be better than a republican. Just look at our country there are wars, gas prices are rising everyday, housing foreclosures , 63,000 jobs have been cut since January. If you don’t believe me go MSN.COM it, an article that site. This country is already in a recession, putting another republican in the white house will be the biggest mistake we (this country) will ever make. But since it is called the “WHITE HOUSE,” I supposed that is why Obama doesn’t fit. Hillary is a female and I guess that is the reason she doesn’t fit. This is my personal opinion, and I am sure whoever reads this will say “There is the trick card again,” but I don’t care. Let be realistic, it is what it is and will always be BLACK-WHITE.

that "trick card" statement is the problem. maybe for once it might be the issues for some of us! I saw a guy on tv last night at jackson state who said he was only voting for obama cause he was black... i comend this man cause he spoke the truth. I personally dont want to vote for any of them! but what can you do when you are limited on choices????? hillary is quick to pat herself on the back for somethings that she has no right to pat for. obama hasnt impressed me with anything he has said and i do think it is time for a change from the conventional old white millitary retiree who will end up doin the same thing as all the rest of them did. Some people are not so close minded as you give everyone credit for.

freedom42, those questions you referred to, the ones Obama didn't want to answer, were about his relationship with William Ayers of the Weather Underground, whom Obama served on the board of a philanthropy with, and who donated 200.00 to Obama's campaign. Ayers is now professor of education at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
The reason some people think that is a big deal, especially Hillary supporters, is that the Weather Underground was involved in some bombings way back in the seventies. However, Barack "strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen, as he does all violent acts"; besides, as his supporters could point out, Hillary's husband Bill pardoned two of the Weathermen for the crimes they committed.
I wouldn't worry too much about the communist sympathies of either Barack or Hillary, because according to the mouthpiece of the World Socialist Party Fourth International, both of them are simply being used by the capitalist American imperialists to put a new face on American imperial policy, and cites as their evidence the huge sums of money both candidates have been given by the American business establishment. You can read their analysis here: http://www.wsws.org/articles/2008/feb200...
The Fourth International is not happy with the progress of socialism in America even though we have obligingly adopted the Marxist recommendations of a centralized economy and free public education stressing collective effort over individual effort and a sweeping program of massive redistribution of wealth to the underclass, and with the Bush administration have embarked on a course of continual revolution as recommended by Leon Trotsky.
It probably doesn't matter which of the three candidates win the election, at least not if you are hoping for some fundamental change in society or government, such as a return to constitutional principles, or, on the other hand, acceleration in our pursuit of socialism for America and more walking trails and what have you.
In the Obama campaign disclaimer of support for the Weathermen, it is interesting to note that it is only the violent actions of that group Obama opposes, not that part of their ideology that is non-violent. Compassionate conservatism, meet Sympathetic Socialism.
Why not Obama? Was there anything more substantial to the rhetoric of Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, or the last Bush? There really wasn't, it is all just a matter of which flavor of national politics you favor suspending disbelief for. Obama's platform is the platform of the Democratic Party, just as McCain's is the platform of the Republican party. As to the effectiveness of either in solving problems, look back over the past 140 years and you will looking over what has to be the bloodiest 140 years of human history. That was a bipartisan effort.

B2B why would you make a comment like the one you made if you are not racist? You didn't answer my question either..."What does White House have to do with Obama or Hillary? Don't set yourself up to look like one if you aren't. I am not trying to make an assumption here...it just sounded like a racist statement and there is too much of that around.

Well I figure the outcome of this race. Was decided long before WE even knew who the candidates were going to be. They tell us what they want us to know. And the news just leaves me more frustrated than ever. None of us will ever know what the candidates really stand for. Because that is the way it is done.
All the problems this country is having. Did not suddenly happen last week. Now I'm not campaigning for anyone. But think about this one point. For how many years have our Veterans been ignored. And how many years have
ALL of these candidates been in office. But all of a sudden now it is an important issue. Fling that question at all of them and see what they have to say. How many years have families suffered due to Government decisions and wastful spending. Each time they say, I've been to 40 countries. Just figure out what that cost you......
The Government keeps wanting us to give up more stuff and pay more taxes. But what have they given up? In Congress IF they show up. Most of them are asleep on your dollar. So don't think this election wasn't already decided long before it started.

The Republican Party had a black candidate also, but he did not get any media coverage. There is a reason for that. He is a conservative who really knows our Constitution, and believes our founding father knew what they were doing and thinks we should return to some of those old ways. The liberal media hates that. I wish he had ran as an independant.

The key to your dilemma momoftwokids was already thought out and provided for when the country's rules were established. The oppression you feel is the oppression of your economic freedom, the ability to trust in the value of whatever transaction you take part in.
This is a fundamental issue neither party will address. The constitution only allows gold and silver to be used as money, and later acts set the standard for the basic monetary unit. I would be willing to be that not one person in a thousand in our country knows what a dollar is; not knowing that simple thing the people are unable to reason out for themselves the devastating effect the substitution of paper money for gold and silver has had on the moral, spiritual, and economic life of the country. Not understanding how this has wrecked our nation leaves the people confused about what steps to take to set things straight again.

Even if they are classified as such, you would be imprisioned for printing your beliefs. I stand by my statement...I am thankful to live in this country with all its faults and I know how my freedom was won....it was bloody, yes. There are Christians in China who have to worship underground so that they aren't imprisioned. One can't be in possession of a Bible in many middle eastern countries. They love God and he wants them to be able to worship openly and freely but they can't because of governmental decisions...not God's decision. Mans' laws.

America is a melting pot. Our diversity is what distinguishes us from some many other nations and makes us who we are.
This nation was found by people from different countries. They came from Spain, France, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands...the list is long.
People of all origins called America home then and now.

Obama will not wear the American flag lapel pin like the other candidates do. I saw with my own eyes Obama on the National news in front of an American flag and he was standing next to Clinton and McCain who both had their hands over their hearts, but Obama did not. I don't know whose flag it is he salutes to, but whoever it is, I suggest he go to their country and be a leader. Our entire military stops what they are doing on base and salutes the flag when it is being raised. If Obama is above our flag or ashamed of it, he is applying for the wrong job.

These days, straightshooter, Russia has a great deal more economic freedom than the US, because they only have a 10% flat income tax, having had to live through the misery of an economic system like ours has become. As to the other freedoms those people don't enjoy, in any of the countries you mentioned, remember that those people did elect their leaders. In all those places you are free to speak as you want, so long as it agrees with the government, which the people have decided is what they want.
And, I point out this to you...we have never been attacked by Russia, or Venezuela, or Cuba. We have had a warship attacked by Israel, and we have had recent military incursions from Mexico along our border with them. A lot of the nationalist hype parroted in our society is just hype.
And how do you know what God wants?

This comes as no surprise that a Mississippi representative is rooting for Obama. Of course, for some odd reason, no one will admit that as being somewhat racist, just like no one will admit that more than 80% of blacks (in the US) voted for Obama already. This country is now in a recession. Do we really need someone that has little to hardly any experience to pull us out?
McCain has the most experience and knows how to handle the war against terrorism. He understands how this country has fallen into recession, and he understands the ablilty to get the US out.

So, Enkikur, you think that the nationalization of major businesses in Russia and Venezuela gives them more economic freedom that us? I don't think so. As far as misery, I remember a time when the Soviets didn't have enough foodstuffs for their citizenry....they were truly suffering under an oppressive governenment. I do think we should be considering the flat tax which was proposed several times in the past by individuals like Steve Forbes. As far as elections, you can't count Cuba's as such since there wasn't an alternative to Castros' brother Raul. The others are different stories but the governments have taken over the public airwaves so that the public only hears what they want them to hear.
No, we haven't been attacked by Russian, Venezuela, Cuba or a number of other nations, but we sure have been threatened on numerous occasions. Because of our military strength we haven't had to defend ourselves against them...yet. Mexico just needs to police its own borders and the US needs to control ours and the illegal immigrants crossing it...you never know when a terrorist might decide to use the same paths as a Mexican.
And as far as God is concerned, I know what he wants because I read His Word.

The Mexicans and terrorists soon will not be crossing the border on paths, they will have an eight lane super-highway running straight up through the middle of "our" country.
Obama won't honor our flag and people still support him. That is just stupid.
Hillary talks about her experience in other countries. She was just along for the trip. Her husband was the one handling business while she visited with the other wives.
McCain is no more a republican than the other two.
Who is ready for a revolution. That is what this country was founded on and it looks like it is that time again. Let's take our country back and get rid of all the "professional politicians".

Straightshooter, what word is that? Is it only a WORD? GOD which spelled backwards is DOG... maybe thats the word.. DOG
Most dogs have purier souls than many (if not all) human beings. What makes us so special? Is it because we are intelligent and have derived a plan to totally take over and demolish the planet Earth? This plan doesn't sound very saintly to me.

Not...get a life...a Christian one. Everyone, please pray for Not and for me. I pray that God forgives you for your ignorance and for saying and thinking what you do and me for my inability to be able to show you the truth. The Bible is the INSPIRED Word of God. Men only wrote what God led them to write.

Incognito, I am not even going to try with you. The narrowness of your mind just doesn't strike me as interesting anymore. Plus, as I have learned for myself "you can't win an arguement with a dumb person."
My amazement is in McCain. Considering his background, and his ties, he is the best choice (considering the choices).

Straight--don't pray for me. I live a good life and don't need yours or anyone else's prayers.
If the bible was written by men through God, then why was it man that decided what saying should be in the bible and which ones should be left out.
OR did you not know that stuff was left out?
Since stuff was left out, I guess that would make it incomplete. But if you want to continue with your ignorance go right ahead.
And for that matter, if you are a christian, shouldn't you be more understanding of people's belief. Jesus was Jewish and yet he reached out the Gentiles. He was kind to the Sumeritan lady who gave him water. He did not pass judgement the way you do.
So if being a christian means being like christ...then you have FAILED.

My opinion doesn't count. So I walk through each day alone. And I like it that way. The only thing I focus on is being a good person.
Supposedly if your a religious person. You don't fuss, fight, accuse and intimidate others to bend to your will. Aren't you suppose to be nice caring folks? Well I sure havn't seen any of that.

straightshooter, those nationalized businesses were for the most part businesses owned by foreign aliens in those countries. That is the reason for the big fuss with Cuba and Venezuela at least....American interest in those countries can summed up as United Fruit, Exxon, Freeport Sulphur, and a few others.
As for Russia, the people got what they thought they wanted at first. Unfortunately for the Russian people, it turned out that whoever ends up in charge takes care of themselves first. But, as Obama says, hope reigns supreme and now they are thinking that Lenin and Stalin weren't a necessary product of the Revolution and the Marxists worldwide want to try it again but this time they are going to pick a good leader, like we are always going to do in the next election.
Natchez1, the soldiers who died did not bestow freedom on me, they likely felt they were fighting in defense of it though. We were never attacked by Korea, or North Vietnam, or Panama, or Haiti, or Bosnia, or Afghanistan, or Iraq, or Indonesia, or Nicaragua, or Cambodia; we have been militarily active in all those places though, in some cases more overtly than others, and I am positive the list is much longer.
As for WW II and I, that was mainly a European problem, with the exception of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. Neither of those wars would have been possible without the approval and financing of the aggressors in the beginning by people who stood to make a profit off of the wars, and did make huge profits. Some of those people lived right here in the US and rather than being charged with treason, either maintained or went on to gain positions of power in industry and government.
Those soldiers may have died purely, believing in the highest good, but too often they died vainly, not of their own choosing, but of our inabiltiy to hold our elected representatives to the oaths they swear when they take office.

I obtained it through birth, as natural or divine right natchezbum. If I lived in those countries, I would still have the rights and the freedoms, though I would have to suffer the consequences of my exercise, as many have.
The only reason I belabor this point is to awaken the realization that rights and freedoms do not flow from force of arms, any such rights and freedoms exist at the pleasure of the wielder of foruce. Our country was formed on the proposition that rights are a consequence of birth, inseperable from the person. As a nation we have begun to believe that rights come from the government, and that is the philosophy that creates the oppression you speak of as existing in other countries. We will be the same way, we go in that direction bit by bit, and if we allow that to happen all the people who died for this country, for whatever reason, will have died in vain. We will be defeated from within, just as the writers of the constitution predicted.

The government does not give you the right, the people do. The lawyers (which most of the gov is made up of) have pimped the constitution out so much that this country is in the shape it is in now. We need to go back to the original thoughts of our fore fathers. That is the ony way this country will survive.

Posted by EnKiKur (anonymous) on March 7, 2008 at 12:46 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Notfromnatchez, I take that from statements by Ben Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and several of the other delegates.
The whole point of the constitution was to protect the people who do not care for power from the people who eternally seek to wield it over others. The delegates realized that this struggle is an eternal human struggle, and that the government they set up would not be easy to protect.
For whatever reason it happened, these men put the best of accumulated thought into a document designed to protect the powerless from the powerful. Such an event is not likely to happen again, without some regrettable disaster befalling humanity.

There are also some Vets that nic'd him Songbird after his singing like a canary in the POW camp, while playing the I'm an admiral's son card, so get me medical treatment in exchange for information.
I'd be very careful of McCain, he may be under that communist spell.
Those Vets also don't like the way he came back home to find an obese disabled spouse and began womanizing with young women who worked under his authority. According to them, he fell in love at first sight when he spotted the wealthy heiress Barbie doll that he is married too now, and began the affair that night, which caused his divorce from his obese disabled wifey.

About religion, notfromnatchez, they thought it mattered so much they did not want to infringe on anyone's ability to worship or not worship as they pleased. Some of them were Protestants, some Catholic, and some Deists. Because they were thinking of individuals they allowed that individuals are likely to differ greatly in belief and did not want that individuality constrained by any state protected form of thought.

Hey, I have a radical thought. Instead of wasting time and money on candidates. And a whole lot of other things. Why don't we start flooding the President all the way down the line. With emails, letters and phone calls. All over the United States. Telling them what we want for OUR country and to stop wasting our money with all their useless travels and ear marks. Just think if each one of them got billions of emails and letters a day.
Do you think they would have to sit up and listen then? I know some folks probably already do this. But just think if we the people stood together for once. And we all did it.
Sit down and make a list of good comments and bad ones. Study your states. And then let the emails fly. Alot of these folks want to be re-elected so they can continue to live their Posh lives. Lets put the pressure on them to start listening and earning their pay.

Oh golly! Just look at all the anti-christian, religion, racist, and everything else comments. And I didn't even start them! Everyone on here knows I am a Christian, and notfrom YOU know I am still praying for you whether you want me to or not - that is one of my unalienable rights (how is your slice btw). But as a Christian, that is the best thing we can do for unbelievers - pray for them. And to those who are unbelievers, I want to say this: Real Christians do want to follow the example of Christ and show love to all, but it is a very very difficult thing to do sometimes. Most of us who are real, are so joyful and confident in our believes that we want to share with everyone we come into contact with, so please don't blame us for trying to share. It's like having news so good that we want everyone to know about it, or having 5 gallons of Blue Bell icecream to share. My own personal beliefs may be different from incongitos or natchezbums, but I am not going to say theirs is wrong either.

Also since we are quoting scripture from the Bible, which I have the right to believe is God's Word, written down by falliable men and ended when HE told them too, try this one:
Matthew 7
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone;
10 or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.
14 For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.
15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
16 By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree

Yep, the native male had it made; he was free, and all he had to do was hunt and fish, bring home the game for the woman to skin and clean, dance naked around the fire giving thanks to the great spirit. Then white man came along and wanted to improve the situation by calling the native male a savage, giving him a bible, some clothing, and telling him he would go to Hell if he didn't believe it. That was just prior to placing him in chains, or out on a reservation (or rather, on land they didn't see fit for notin else).

I typed in "Obama saluting the flag" on google and searched through all the images and I found the one that was displayed on the national news, where everyone else has their hand over their heart, but Obama does not. I don't believe that image has been edited...it's the real deal. I also found a pic of Bush where the caption says something about Obama being criticized for not saluting the flag, and it shows Bush with his hand over his stomach instead of his heart. I found two of Bush like that. Bush looks like he's busy thinking about what's for lunch in those photos...
If you search and find any pictures of Obama saluting our American flag, or wearing a lapel pin of our American flag, let me know! Obama has excuses why he doesn't salute or wear our flag, but I don't want excuses, I want a president who is not ashamed to salute the flag that represents this country.
I agree all of our flags should be manufactured 100% in the U.S.A., and not JUST the tags that say they are. I know that's how a lot of stuff works, if it's made in Mexico but the tags are made in the U.S.A. However, even if the flag was made in China, it's OUR flag.
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

OBAMA talks about AFGHANISTAN-Sounds so good. Then Hillary says: why you never hold any hearings? This is your job: NATO and Afghanistan. The man has no answer. He doesn't work. He doesn't care about the people. He cares more about himself and running for President when he has no credentials and now he is splitting the party. Except for OBAMA all Democrats can be SO STRONG this year. Because of him, now maybe we will lose. Why can't he wait? I feel very angry about this.
ABC News says he voted present 130 times in Illinois state. What is he so busy doing he can't go to work? In the Senate, he passed two laws total: to help Africa and to name a post office. I cant believe most people havent caught on to the "Religion Scam." Organized church is the biggest joke ever created. When I see preachers, youth ministers and the likes driving around in Cadillac Escalades, F-350 dually's, Hummers.....i see a problem. Church is a business! NotfromNatchez--you are so correct about the men who decided what stays in the Bible and what is to be discarded. How convenient! I do believe there is a form of God around us.....but not in the close-minded, undetermined sense the Bible potray's it. Oh, and you Pentecostal people are so ridiculous. Second-hand Amish?

We can only hope that the downturn in our economy will take away the demand that employers have for illegals therefore keeping them from coming here and staying. If they stay they will be on public aid. We can't afford to take care of US citizens and illegal immigrants too.

I really didn't know what to make of it. I would hate to think that our government would enter into a secret pac with these other countries that could undermine the American citizens. Ijohnson, although what this video proposes is likely true with regard to the North American Union, the stuff about the verichip is a bit off in the future. Don't let it unsettle you too much though, I'll explain a little later.
But, there was a recent story in the Democrat about the county vet wanting to put chips in pets. The farmers over in Texas are pretty upset about that movement to chip all the farm animals because of something else that has been happening. If you want to show an animal at a fair, you have to agree to certain terms and conditions that open your farm up to federal inspection, and some farmers have literally been run out of business because they couldn't meet regulations for their very small operations.
That video you posted comes from another video called 'Zeitgeist', you can google that video and watch the whole thing, it is pretty long but interesting. The things the video talks about are not new, it's just the internet makes it easier for people to speculate about what they mean. Don't be too quick to accept someone's point of view, or too quick to accept their conclusions if they don't bother to explain to you how they arrived at their conclusions by telling you what sources they used to reach their conclusions.
I got into the world of conspiracy theory about sixteen years ago or so, and there are some wacky ones out there. It is sort of a hobby of mine to explore them, and so far this is what I have learned:
There is a nefarious group of people who, like The Brain on Pinky and The Brain are out for world domination. These people are the Illuminati, working through Freemasonry, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission, and the Roundtable Groups and the Bilderberg Group. Depending on who you believe, these Illuminati are either Jews, or Jesuits, or Atheists, or a combination of the Jews and Jesuits and Atheists working under the British Crown which is really under the control of the Judeo-Catholic Conspiracy; this is because the Saxons are really one of the lost tribes of Israel, the tribe of Dan...the word saxon comes from, according to this conspiracy school, 'issacs sons'. The wildest theory of all, propounded by a guy named David Icke, is that these wicked Judeo-Catholic Cabalists are really shape shifting reptilians from some other world, who are secretly in charge here. I am not kidding, that is actually one of the theories.
There are some reasons all these ideas come up that are based in history, but how much is true is hard to determine, and very time consuming.

What about the Colonel from KFC? I heard somewhere that is he put secret seasonings in his chicken to make people keep buying his chicken. That was supposedly his way of trying to control the people.

Is the kabala part of the conspiracy let's take over the world thing? I am familar with the Illlumaniti - Freemason connection, but lately I've been hearing about the Jewish mystic movement, so just wondered if it's related. What I haven't heard about is the shape shifters - that's pretty cool. And also that most if not all of the founding fathers were Freemasons/Illuminati.

Yes, freedom, kabala is sort of the base mysticism of the world domination movement.
Quite a few of the founding fathers were Masons, the whole city of Washington was designed as Masonic symbolism, you should look that up, it's real. George Washington would not enter a Masonic Hall the last thirty years of his life because he thought the Masons had been taken over by the Illuminati (whose order was founded May 1st, 1776, communist may day and same year as our declaration of independence, leading some to believe that the 1776 in the lowest tier of the pyramid in the great seal of the US is really a reference to the Illuminati and not the declaration).
The Boston Tea Party convened in a Masonic Hall, and George Washington took the oath of office on a Masonic Bible.

Now I no why I left the state of MS. I think at this time we need to stop thinking party and think about your family-healthcare-food-a decent paycheck-using our money to help us.
You can vote for Mc Cain and get what you have gotten for the last 7 yrs or vote for someone who wants to work with both parties and get us out of the Hell hole that this current administration has us in.
The info on Obama's experience-
Hillary, keeps talking of her experience which has mostly been wife of a govenor and wife of a president-visiting cites and countries as a social rep for the USA does not make her cross the threshold for being up on security of the country.
The Idiot that is now the commander in chief had no experience- and surrounded himself with so called experts-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Rice and others-aka: the Bush crime family.
This has been the most divisive and political administation ever. They lie about everything-erase everything tap into your phones-waste monry on a war we had no business in(Iraq) we owe s much money to China that has been borrowed. They gave out no-bid contracts to Halliburton and KBR and now Halliburton has moved to Saudi Arabia so they can't have oversight and not pay taxes.
JFK-Clinton-Nixon and Carter was not all that experienced-they surrounded there selves with people. It is no different than a CEO who cooses the best people for the job. Wake up people we need to come together and address issues in the US and help our own. And if race is an issue for you-Money is GREEN.
We need someone to bring the country back together like we did when 9/11 happened.

I thought it was pretty funny E! But I understand what you mean, there are people who hear something different that they have never heard before and go off the deep end. The thing is everyone is searching for something to believe in - religion, themselves, garden clubs - whatever. In Christianity, the book of Revelations talks about this stuff. It's not an easy book to study, I have taken 3 courses in it, and gotten 3 different interpretations, but all of them talk about the end days much the same as these videos.
Posted by EnKiKur (anonymous) on March 7, 2008 at 7:51 p.m. (Suggest removal)
That is the thing freedom. You can interpret all these things as having been predicted by Revelations, but at the same time all these elements have always existed in society, so Revelations could be referring to any time in history.
I think if you go here you can get the full story on that britney madonna thing, and I have to agree with these guys that what happened at the MTV awards with the kiss did look a whole lot like a public ritual. You wouldn't see that if you weren't familiar with what the mystery religions were about. The question is, if that event was intended as a ritual, was it just Hollywood being Hollywood, or was it really intended as a ritual?
check this out when you have time:

I am aware that every period of history has been considered by those living in it as "end times", but I look at it this way, you begin dying the moment you are conceived, so the earth has been coming to an end from the moment it was created. As a Christian, I would remind those who are believers that God allows things to happen, and preordains everything. Whoever is elected, it will be by God's will for His Glory. I realize that sounds about as far-fetched as global takeover to many people, but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. But I do believe there are forces out there who do want to take over everything, tell everyone how to think, and what to do - keep up with everyone and have the earth at their feet. What better group than those in Hollywood? They are already considered by many to be as gods. I looked at the video, but will have to go back later. Got dishes to wash and cats to feed. Ya'll have a good night and stary warm.

I don't think rushinghjr is a closet racist. He just is one. But I've been called a racist too and I don't understand why. Anyway, Obama was born in Hawaii to a mother from the U.S and a father from Kenya. Because of that he is an American citizen. McCain was born in Panama City, Panama (not Florida) to American parents on an American military base. Because of that he too is an American citizen. That's the rules of the presidency - you have to be born an American citizen. No foreign born people need apply. I understand that was too keep any English lords from coming here and trying to run our country.

It’s your call, Obama.
3:00 a.m. Phone rings. Barack wake up. You’ve got a call. BO: Who is it? It’s the voters. Barack this is a very serious crisis. You remember when you threatened the Democratic Party with your line that Hillary’s voters would come to you but your voters would not go to Hillary. Well the reciprocal of your threat has come to fruitation. Barack this group represents at least 30% of the voters in California, New York, Texas ... BO: That’s chump change. Barack, 30% of the voters is not chump change. BO: What did MSNBC say about this? They are protecting you by keeping the dissent under raps. Oh by the way they asked if you needed your pillow fluffed. Do the right thing Barack and give it up for Hillary otherwise we might have a Democratic voter diaspora.
It's up to you Ole Miss!

Getting back to the story of the superdelegate: I have conservative beliefs so I will not be voting for either Clinton or Obama. As an interested observer of the election process though, I am very curious to see how Denver plays out during the Democratic National Convention. If Obama goes in with the popular vote and elected delegate lead and Clinton somehow twists enough superdelegates arms to give her the nomination, there is going to be a lot of angry disenfranchised voters. I heard a democratic politician from Virginia say it was going to make the 1968 Chicago Convention look mild. There was a lot of rioting at that convention and I think that is what could happen in Denver this summer if the scenario I listed above plays out. Also, there is six more weeks until the Pennsylvania primary which is only one less week than it's been from the Iowa caucus until present day. If the party isn't careful, this could fracture or implode the party and have serious reprecussions for years. To me it's like watching a train wreck about to happen. Don't get me wrong: I don't want to see people get hurt. It's just something I'm afraid is going to happen.
