I think it is pretty clear...my understanding is that the guy that shot at the car is the one that will be arrested.

I mean, I am assuming the ROBBER did the shooting, so if that is the case, which is the way I read the story, the ROBBER will be arrested.

What was it a drug deal gone bad. Ferriday needs to clean up all the crack off it's streets so poeple can feel safe again. I rememeber a time when we could set around and have to worry about someone coming up to our window asking if we wanted anything. Now it's not safe safe to go out at night and don't dare get caught at the wrong end of town.

Overthehill60 I didn't think that was a really good comment to make and to just be outright racial about it is just silly. There are just as many white crack heads as there are blacks in Ferriday so there's no need for a remark like that and for a dr to make a statement like this I would like to know who he is so that all of the "BLACK" citizen of Ferriday will know not to give him a first thought for a visit. I bet you the blacks are most likely the ones that are making him rich!! It just bothers me how racial people can be on any topic that the paper has. Everything is not a black and white issue and it's people like you and that dr that makes this world such a difficult place to live in. I don't condone violence of any sort but I don't like racial remarks either. I was highly considering requesting that your comment be removed but it needs to stay there so that others can see what type of person you are. And as for hitting a black person and keep going, that is first and foremost a "CRIME" and you could be charged with hit and run, secondly what is supposed to happen to you if you do hit a black person by mistake? I'm sure there's not going to be a gang of people standing there waiting on you to hit the person and then beat you unconscious!!! I don't know where the dr could have gotten something like this from but I think it's ridiculous for him to make a remark like this. It really burns me up because he out of all people should have common sense to know that not all people are the same and that every race has problems and drugs are not limited to just one race. There are lots of white, mexicans, latinos, hispanics, etc. that also have the exact same problems as the blacks so you can't just say this is where the problem is. I bet you your family or his family has at least one person in it that's either on drugs or is committing crimes because there are no perfect families I don't care who you are and how much money you make. I bet one of his kids is probably a crackhead!!! And last but not least, may God have mercy on your souls!!!

More than likely you are involved in this incident or know someone who is.
Everyday people write about the conditions of Ferriday. It's a disgrace to the state. It's dirty & trashy looking. The comment I made only was speaking the truth & apparently you and the Democrat can't face the truth.
As for the doctor he has been retired for several years.
I will say one racial remark & that is why do black people wear dark colors at night like they are daring someone to hit them, they will even cross the main highway daring you to hit them. Again I will say if I ever hit one (God forbid I ever hit anyone) I will go to the police station or fire department. I advise you to do the same thing fonkeytowngirl.

Actually I didn't have the comment removed because it doesn't affect me as a person and I can face anything that comes to me. I just hate when someone is just outright racial like that. Blacks are not the only ones that wear dark clothes and walk the streets at night looking for someone to run them over. And if Ferriday is that trashy then don't travel through it at all. You can't look at everyone in Ferriday the same because there are some really good upstanding citizens here that are black and i'm one of them. I work my butt off at a good job to have nice things, i'm not on public assistance, my fiance' has a really nice job and my kids are honor roll students. I have a lot to be proud of and your remarks will not make me feel less of a person because I live in Ferriday and i'm black. Ferriday's situations are no worse than those that are taking place in Vidalia, Natchez and other surrounding areas. Try picking up other papers and you'll see what i'm talking about. There are problems everywhere in this world and not just Ferriday!!!! I can tell you live a miserable life looking down on others and prejudging without even knowing who these people really are.

I'm glad you have beat the odds and made something for yourself & your family. As for me I'm very happy with my life & thankfully live in America where I have freedom of speech & can say what I want. The problem is there is freedom of the press & the Democrat has control over that.
I admit Vidalia & Natchez both have some very rundown neighborhoods but not the MAIN street. I need not say it is the black neighborhoods that are run down because that would be saying I am racial so we'll leave that up to others to decide.
So fonkeytowngirl you just sit in your clean little city & enjoy your fonkey life & leave me out of it.

Fonkeytowngirl, you are so right on and in my opinion your response here or at anyother time have never been hateful.As American citizens there should be more acceptance of all persons. Our children need better models if they are to succeed.Some persons may leave the small towns and these attitudes could determine success or starvation.I have often wondered how a person filled with hate feels after writing such hate to another human being.Remember the young do as we do not as we tell them to do.
