Woman reports assault

Published Monday, April 7, 2008

NATCHEZ — A middle aged woman was physically assaulted in her house on 172 Booker Road late Saturday night.

Adams County Sheriff Ronny Brown said the woman reported that she was stirred from her sleep by a noise in her house. The noise that woke her was the sounds of her front door being forced open.

Upon her investigation, she reportedly saw a black male in her home, and he proceeded to attack her.

The assailant was reported to have fled the house in a red car. Brown said the woman was taken to Natchez Community Hospital where she was treated and released. She is expected to give a full statement to the sheriff’s office today. The woman also reported that the male had stolen the radio from her car.

“We’re in the process of investigating it,” Brown said. “Nothing will be filed until we’ve talked to her.”

I live in Plantation Park, and I just recently heard (via a third party) of an incident, very similar to this, but did not involve a vehicle.

The lady is in NRMC after having eye surgery. She may lose her eye. It is serious.

What I want to do to this guy cannot be posted on this forum. Simply put, this man would feel some pain.

CS, I can totally agree with you! I am in Jackson, and one of the unfortunate with no power, but I have since moved on to a hotel, until things get back to going. My husband and I spent our first and ONLY night in our home without power. That night, I had a glock automatic and a nice .357 Magnum, six shooter. Women should learn to not be afraid of guns, but not only that, but to also know how to use them. It's not good enough to have something around, but not know how to use it.

I hope that the women that was attacked is going to be okay. I pray that she doesn't lose her eye. But I wish to to God that she had killed the assailant. I agree with Teach4Peace all women should learn to use guns. And at the rate things are going with people breaking into your home use what ever resources that you can put your hands on. This is so sad. My God bless her and she recover very soon and totally.

I hope she has a full recovery, but I wish they would get the guy and bring back public hangings....this would slow them down...

This is the second attack in the Natchez/Vidalia area. I hope this lady is ok & doesn't loose her.
It's a shame we have to have anything to protect us in the privacy of our home.
I hope they find this scum bag & he rots in jail. Maybe a good idea would be to let the citizens have first hand at him. There's some good oak trees in the area that would be good for public hangings.

I believe in the concept of law and order, but I also believe in defending yourself against criminals. It wouldn't suprise me if this guy has danced around the legal system for years, commiting crimes and getting slapped on the wrist by the impotent Adams County justice system.

Ladies protect yourselves, you're not safe, I bought my father a 9mm to protect himself and my mom, maybe some other folks need to do the same. You want to fight crime? Then SHOOT BACK!!!!

Thanks to all of you for the kind thoughts about my mother. Contrare to what the article states my mother was not treated and released. She was at Community hospital about to undergo surgery then moved to Ntz Regional because of equipment problems. She will be released sometime this morning. Prayers and thoughts are very appreciated in hopes of her speedy recovery.

You need to get a military grade flashlight like the Gerber LX 3.0 LED
http://www.basegear.com/gerberlx30led.ht...
and have it attached to a short pump or semiauto shotgun. For the ladies Mossberg makes a little 410 guage home security shotgun. This is really all anyone needs. The men might like the Mossberg 500 Cruiser 12 guage.
see: http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh03-e.htm

With the 410 use #4 buckshot. see:http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=215168

In any case have the light attached to the shotgun. When you enter a room or hallway where you think an intruder is turn the light on in their face then go low and shoot. In the Marine Corps we would use a flashbang grenade but the light will temporarily blind and disorient someone.

GOING SUPERTRUCKER ON YA NOW. LIKE WHEN A FIRE STARTS IN YOUR HOME YOU HAVE A PLAN. ALSO HAVE A PLAN IF AN INTRUDER INVADES YOUR HOME. KNOW WHERE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS ARE. DON'T SHOOT UNTIL THE NOISEMAKER IS VERIFIED AS AN INTRUDER.

Aim for the center of the body.

I am so sorry to read this report and do pray that all will be well with the lady. The persons who commit these crimes are cowards and we MUST stick together and give any information that will help to put them out of business. This includes not buying "hot" goods that we know are stolen. pray but also observe and report.I am sure this is not the first time he has commited crimes.also, we need to watch each others backs.

umrebelgirl.....what is the condition of your mother's eye? Will the be able to save it? We all certainly hope so and we also are just sickened that this happened.

All the ideas ((Hardcorps)) said are good, but an older woman is not capable of handling all that. My Mama is 82, lives alone & her health is good, but she wouldn't know how to use a gun.
I hope they did catch the monster!!
((umrebelgirl)) tell your Mama we are all thinking & praying for her recovery mentally & physically.

I hope that the lady gets better.. And it is really sad that you feel the need to buy a firearm to protect you and or your family in the privacy of you own home..

This is why we HAVE to look out for each other. Also sometimes we give out too much information about victims. We need strong communication and a no nonsense attitude toward these people who are criminals, they get relaxed.
Often when we get jury duty, we do not want to serve. We need
to represent in the courts and put these persons away, not a slap on a wrist.

Posted by umrebelgirl (anonymous) on April 7, 2008 at 1:04 p.m. (Suggest removal)

the eye surgery went well from what the doctor says. we have to wait and see how things go with another visit or so to find out about vision. She is in very good spirits considering the brutal beating she took and is home resting. Hopefully we will catch the fella and he will get what he deserves. Thanks again for all of the concern from the community.

umrebelgirl I am praying for your mother, and for your family. It is sad-- but I do think everyone should take measures to protect themselves. Way to go Hardcorps.

He won't get what he deserves. He deserves much worse than what he will get through the courts. I am just thankful she is ok.
vidalia - I agree with you. We should keep some information private and we should look out for one another. Unfortunately though, a jury doesn't decide the sentence for a crime. They decide guilt or innocence. The judge decides the sentence and hopefully when this idiot is caught, they will punish him to the full extent of the law.

umrebelgirl,
Just want to let you know that I am praying for your family. I love your mom as though she is another mother to me! My mom has kept me posted on how she is throughout the day. Even my mom says she sounds the same as she always has!!!! But that's just how your mom is! She's not going to let this get the best of her. Now I just hope they catch the guy and put him in the cell with Big Bubba.. That's about the only way he will get some of what he deserves through the justice system. Just remember that God is on your Mom's side and is always with her and He will make sure that this guy is taken care of!

For once I would like to see the table turn against these criminal types caught in the act . If she had a 9mm pistol and unloaded on this bum I would applaud her action .

"overthehill60" your comment is outlandish. The only public hangings I recall were racially motivated. And they were definitely public cause I've seen pics of the white men, women and children watching the hanging like they were at a pig roast. Think before u respond. I am not condoning the actions of a bugular but, just think before u comment.

I did think before I made the comment!!!!
There have been hangings in Natchez that were not racial related maybe you should read some history.

If you go here, you will see that it IS NOT illegal to carry a firearm in your vehicle or have one in your home! I recommend EVERYONE having one for protection and I hope this lady recovers fully! My thoughts and prayers are with you!
