Wow...this caught me off guard!
Usually don't see murder-suicides in towns like these.
But even the small cities aren't so safe anymore...

This is so tragic. I hope that people will use the utmost tact and respect in this situation. Although it was a totally different situation and a murder was not involved, I lost my father to suicide and it is horrible to deal with.

sayitloud - thank you. This is so ironic to read this today because I just received a manual from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and am really going to try to get a Suicide Survivor Group (for loved ones left behind after a suicide) going in this area. I used to be involved in one elsewhere and it is great to have. I also want to get a community walk started called "Out of the Darkness" to raise awareness and prevention for something like this. Anyone who reads this please keep this in mind and remember when information starts to be distributed to help out. This walk should occur sometime in the fall. If anyone knows this family - please be there for them. To listen to them, to cry with them, to just be there. They are going to need it.

jabese5.....how bizzare you would get that today! I for one would like to participate in that walk.
And you are so right...this family will need all the love and support they can get right now so those of you that know anyone in this family I encourage you to please reach out.

What a tragedy. I've known John Wesley since we were kids. I really hate to hear they were allegedly involved with scrip meds. Gosh this is so much of a shock!!!! God bless you Ms. Sharon. You too, jabesa5. I definitely will participate in your upcoming event. Let us know through the paper, Ok, and God be with you.

Does anyone know if Biglane Road is the same as D.A. Biglane off Hwy 131 toward the airport? I'm so sorry for your losses, on both sides of the family. God bless you all! Although I don't know you, I'll be praying for ya.

I left a honest, straightforward comment and why was it removed? Everyone wants to hear the positive, but few can deal with the negative and the truth. I'm a relative, so i know the history and the kind of people they was, and it is nothing to be proud of to say the very least.

I would imagine the police have to do an investigation before anything can be said as to reasons, motive, etc.

Biglane Road is around Lake Concordia.

Wesley was my cousin and to those of you that expressed your sympathy WE the family appreciate it. I have been walking around in a daze since daddy called me and told me what happened. Please just keep his sister and children in your prayers. It is a hard thing to deal with and we all have so many questions that may or may not be answered.
To those of you who knew so much about the "alleged" activities why did YOU not contact the authorities?
All I ask is for respect for the families feelings at this time. To Patsy's family my heart goes out to you at this time. I know it may not mean much to you after this but I am so sorry for what happened.

In regards to the first comment. Years ago, one of my best friends shot his wife and then pulled the gun to himself. Both died. This happened at, what used to be, K&B Drugs in Natchez, MS. They were living in Vidalia, at the time. It was mentioned, that he got what he wanted, and that was to be by her side, in that they were both in the same room at the hospital. God bless all!

josey
I am so very sorry to hear this!! I remember Wesley when we were in school together, I can see him like it was yesterday. He was always such a sweet big teddy bear to me. I have not seen him in many years. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything I can do or if you just need to talk do not hesitate to get in touch with me. Once again I am so sorry and very sad about this!
As for the negative people on this site please, please be kind and think before you reply with something mean and stupid!!! It's the family and friends that are left behind to try and cope with this tragedy. They do not need to hear bad things about their loved ones.
I love you josey and will be praying for your family.

First of all, I would like to say that my heart goes out to the families of the deceased. The names of these people sound so familiar. However, the person that said that Biglane Road is around Lake Concordia is wrong. Biglane is as a previous writer said it is off of Hwy 131 toward the airport.

josey, I can only guess at how much this hurts to lose Wesley and Patsy. I don't understand why my earlier post was deleted as I said nothing 'bad' about the two of them.
As someone related to all of you through marriage, I'm mostly on the outside looking in, but know that my heart hurts for you and your entire family.
I had asked that everyone keep the entire Mize family in Tensas and Concordia parishes in their prayers...I forgot that you were in Natchez so I would like to add you into that group. And your sister in Montana who is another of his cousins doesn't need to be forgotten either...

sorry, mrserey, Biglane Rd is a road off of Hwy 568 (lake rd). It runs parallel to Hwy 900 which goes straight to Clayton. Biglane looks like it cuts into Hwy 65 but really just does a loop back to Hwy 900 at Redgum.
D. A. Biglane Dr. is the road off of Hwy 131. If you need further clarification, see Mapquest for visual.

I , too , have lot loved ones to suicide . My heart goes out to the loved ones left behind . This sort of thing could happen to any family . You will wonder it there was anything you could have done or said to prevent this . I would participate in the walk . My sympathies to the family and friends .

sayitloud, southernbelle & kpage - I am very glad to hear that you would want to participate in the event that I described. Southernbelle - I am sorry to hear that you have lost loved ones to suicide. As you said, it could happen to anyone - for the most part - people never expect such a thing and it comes as a complete shock. I lost my father in this manner 6 years ago (April 9, 2002) and yesterday was the 6th anniversary of when I buried him. It still seems like it was yesterday and it still hurts just as bad. You just learn different ways to cope. I feel as if I am finally at a point though that I can take it and make something good out of a tragic situation and help other people. It's scary to start something new like that and it's encouraging to hear that people would be interested. I thought about this family all night long and my heart just goes out to those left behind.
JOSEY - if there is anything at all that can be done besides prayer - please let people know. I am so sorry for both sides of the family.

My sympathies goes to Mrs. Mize's family. I cannot imagine the hurt you must be feeling. I am sorry but I have no sympathy for her murderer. Nothing in this world should cause you to kill the one person you are suppose to love honor and cherish forever. I have a low tolerance for murderers and I do not (do not) care about the problems that he may have allegedly had. work them out or leave do not kill.... again my deepest sympathies to Mrs. Mize's family. May God give you all the strength that you will need in this terrible time.

You're right - murder is not tolerable. But there is still a family left behind to deal with this aftermath and they need prayer.
