Isle to see new top manager
Published Saturday, April 19, 2008
NATCHEZ — The Isle of Capri has a new general manager and vice president.
Jill Haynes, senior director of corporate communications for the Isle of Capri, said Michael Tamburelli will soon take over at the casino for Jack Sours, who has been relocated within the company to Boonville, Mo.
Tamburelli worked at the Natchez Isle of Capri before, as the senior director of operations from May 2000 to July 2001.
He has been working in the casino industry for 27 years.
He’s been a member of the Isle of Capri’s management team since 1994.
Tamburelli has served as the vice president and general manager of Isle of Capri Casino in Kansas City, Mo. and also as the senior director of operations at the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville, Mo.
Sours has led the Natchez Isle of Capri for approximately three years.
Neither Sours or Tamburelli could be reached for comment Friday.
The Isle is currently closed due to high Mississippi River waters. No date has been set for the boat to reopen.
The Isle of Capri bought the Lady Luck Casino in 1999. Two other casinos — Grand Soleil and one operated by Natchez Enterprises — have annouced plans to open boats in Natchez.

Jack I hope the move to MO will be a good one for you. I don't know you personally but my son works for you and has spoken well of you.

Like being named captain of the Titanic before it's final voyage. One new boat here, another on the horizon, the Isle will soon be reconfigured to carry coal up and down the Mississippi.
