Published Friday, May 16, 2008

BATON ROUGE (AP) — A search committee has whittled from six to three a list of candidates to succeed Ed Jackson as chancellor of Southern University.

The finalists are: Ray Belton, chancellor of Southern University at Shreveport; Kofi Lomotey, Fisk University executive vice president and provost in Tennessee; and Napoleon Moses, Alcorn State University vice president for academic affairs in Mississippi.

The Southern Board of Supervisors will make the final choice. It has a meeting scheduled May 23.

Jackson resigned last year.

Are you kidding, Dr. Moses? Did Southern do a through check of his character? Does anyone remember that Dr. Moses was the one about almost 18 years ago who was connected to the mayor of New Orleans and that there was some type of trouble that went down. Dr. Moses knows that the new President of ASU is about to send his but home. Well, God knows what's best. Good luck to SU!!

Fay if they don't know, they'll find out!! If they really wanted to know, they should ask faculty members. I will leave it at that.

Don't down the man. If that's who they want then so be it. Lets not throw stones. He cannot be any worst than any of the others Southern had.
