Food stolen from Food Pantry overnight

Published Friday, June 27, 2008

NATCHEZ — Though the food at the Food Pantry is given to the needy for free, one person did not realize that.

Five bags of groceries were stolen from the Food Pantry Tuesday night, Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said.

Mullins said entry was gained through the back door, which was kicked in.

The incident was reported to the police department Wednesday morning, Mullins said.

There are currently no suspects and the charge would be burglary of a business.

Mullins said anyone with information pertaining to this incident should call Crimestoppers at 601-442-5000.

How sad. I realize that stealing is stealing...but stealing FOOD, it just makes me sorry for the person who did this.
I feel like this is only the beginning of these crimes.

Last night, my family ate well, baked Chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls...reading this just breaks my heart to kknow that people actually have to steal food for their families.

It is sad and it is going to get worse ntzmom. In such a bountiful world it is only politics that keeps everyone from being fed.

Trails first, food later.

did ya'll know the deputy who wrecked his car into the new cars at Great River was driving with a suspended license and was fired from the SO

I don't feel bad for them, at least not in this case, that food is GIVEN away for free in most cases! What? They couldn't wait until the place opened before they received the free food? I don't really know how the food bank works and I am thankful for that, but aren't those who can't afford to buy food allowed to pick a certain amount of items? Also, may be off topic a little, but people who are in that dire straights, should just go down to DHS and get food stamps. My guess is, the person did not steal the groceries to eat. May have been stolen to sell for cash for a drug habit. There's just no telling.

Look, they had to steal teach4peace. These outrageous gas prices gives everyone the right to go out and steal. As a matter of fact, I'm going to Walmart and stealing me some necessities today.

We are not suppose to judge people and who knows what that person is going thru in their life. I am just going to pray for them. God promises to provide for everyone.

I didn't say it was "RIGHT", I was just saying that it was sad.

I understand what you are saying ntzmom. My heart breaks for this person too. Like I said you never know what they might be going through.

My post does not indicate that anyone advocates theft or says it is right, I am just wondering, if the food is given away, why steal it?

Posted by priya (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 8:14 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I agree that person must have been desperate. I was a single mother at one time and if it werent for my family helping where i needed it most (food) It would have been hard to make ends meet. I feel sorry for the person that stole the food but when you have children hungry and cant feed them where do you go? Its sad when things are being spent on trails and parking lots and people have to steal to feed their children.

Stop the press! Last report regarding the future of the
food pantry was dismal, now you telling us the organization has enough food that people are breaking in to steal. Thanks for checking back on the situation and reporting the changes timely.

As for the person(s) having to break in and steal food.
There is no pride in being hungry....ask and people will
come to your aid. Stealing food is the last thing on earth humans should have to result to.....

Food pantries should be open 24 hours just like healthcare industries.

Exactly momoftwo23 and priya.
And teach4peace, I would think the place only gives away one bag of non perishable food every so often, you know like, one bag per family per month or somthing like that.

And if you have hungry kids, whatcha gonna do? If I were in that boat, I cant say I wouldnt have done the same thing.

A;so, I dont think they traded the food for drugs, I mean, I would think the drug dealers already have enouggh money to buy cans of corn ect...

Posted by dixiemama (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 9:34 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I agree it is sad but if it was free why steal it! If they were too proud to ask for charity why would they be the type to steal?

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 9:56 a.m. (Suggest removal)

First, the food was stolen by a greedy pig. Someone who wanted something for nothing. Greedy greedy greedy. Piggy Piggy Piggy. I cannot beleive anyone would try to justify someone taking what doesn't belong to them.

Second, if you have hungry kids, it is YOUR job to feed them. YOU had them. YOU feed them. Stop looking to others to be responsible for YOU. Grow up! Be an adult. Crimony--get over this "nanny state" mentality.

As for a food pantry open 24 hours? Sure cchat--YOU go volunteer right now for that, OK? In addition to what I am sure is numerous hours each week that you already volunteer there, you will take on working overnight to keep a freeloader's heaven open. Thanks. Glad you are going to take that on. Congrat. Bravo.

Enough! with leaching on the rest of society for YOUR OWN FAILURE to provide for you and your own.

ENOUGH!

Seriously....ARE there police at all, anywhere? Or are they all at Dimples?

A security alarm company would make a killing in Ferriday/Natchez/Vidalia. Something is stolen, vandalized or robbed every time I look at this page.

you know natchezsouthside maybe they cant afford to feed there child and buy gas to go to work. what are they gonna do not go to work... then they still cant feed there child.. its a no win situation there

Posted by momoftwo23 (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 10:24 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I never said it was right nor did I try and justify it. I just said no one knows what this person might be going through. I do believe that is was wrong but who or you or I to judge someone unless you know all the circumstances then you are still no suppose to judge anyone. Natchezsouthside, whose to say what you would do if you were hungry, couldnt find a job, didnt have anywhere to live, and couldnt afford the gas it takes to get to a job and back? So, who are you to call someone a greedy pig?

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 10:34 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I'll tell you who I am. I am a person who made myself without out the help of anyone else thank you. I worked. i learned. I made the effort to be who i am. I've never a hand out or a freebie in my whole life.

As for no jobs? BS! In the paper the other day was talk about needing laborers on those new condos on Franklin. Also, farmers are having a tough time with crops because there aren't enough migrants to pick crops.

If the illegals can find work, so can all those leaching off society. Amazing how people who can't speak or read english can find work here, no?

There are lawns all over this city that need to be mowed.

There are jobs. There are backbreaking jobs to be done. So don't tell me people can't get work.

As for the cost of gas--what did people do before cars??? There were no cars in Natchez until the early 1900s!! People WALKED. Heck, get a cheapo old bike at a yard sale.

And spare me the "kids at home" saga. One mom can watch the kids for a fee while the other moms or dads go to work. Then everyone is covered.

It takes ambition and thinking beyond the next handout to fend for youself.

Stop looking for others to fix your life. It is YOUR life. Run it yourself.

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 10:48 a.m. (Suggest removal)

and for those of you who believe in society giving handouts; for how long should that go on?

-How long should someone live off society in public housing? 2 years? 5 years? 10 years? a lifetime?

-how long should someone get food stamps? months? years? a lifetime?

-how long should someone get welfare? forever?

-how long should someone get free healthcare? When do we say no more?

When do we say you've had a chance to get your life together. Fend for yourself.

When do we say to people, You have taken enough. Now someone else gets to take, and YOU have to care for YOU. Society has helped you long enough.

When??? How long?? When does it end???

Posted by dottie (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:13 a.m. (Suggest removal)

What sort of items was taken? Was it the assortment
needed for feeding a family or the items that could
easily be sold? Drug dealers do have money to buy
cans of corn, but drug users will do anything for
money with which to buy their drugs. I have worked
with food banks for years and know this to be true.
Either way, this is a sad situation and affects every
class of society.

Posted by Teach4Peace (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:15 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I have minimal issue with people needing help and going to find it, I just don't want people to start justifying stealing. Believe me, things can get low, but that is why every time I get my paycheck, taxes are taken out, not just for me, but for those who do need that help. Yes, I have issue with people who won't or DON'T take responsibility, but I don't feel this food was stolen by someone who was hungry. I think it was stolen by someone to sell for cash then buy drugs.

If the pantry is only giving out one bag of food, then obviously that person should seek other means of obtaining food. What I have found is so many don't want to qualify for the rules under DHS to qualify for the food stamp card and/or TANF. They would much rather sit on the porch all day, watch others go to work and then steal or beg. Most people who are on public assistance, know what they need to do to get it and to keep it.

Posted by momoftwo23 (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:17 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Natchezsouthside, I am glad you made it without any help from ANYONE?? Oh yeah, God helped you I'm sure of that. I will be the first to say I have needed help and recieved it. I do totally agree with you about the illegal people working here. But how do you know for a fact that those people are illegal? Of course, someone will hire an illegal before an American because of the face that they dont have to pay them as much.

How do you know that there are multiple mom's living in that household?

I have been in situations where I had the ambition but if not for help from others and by God's grace I could have never gotten to where I am today.

And no I am by no means saying stay on welfare or anything else forever. But some people do need that to get a start at making theirself a life. And yes, my children still get free healthcare because I could by no means afford insurance for them.

Posted by momoftwo23 (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:20 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I never justified that person stealing. Again, I will say you never know what they were going through. If it were a drug dealer selling it for cash, God be with him. If it was a needy family, I hope they will go where they need to to get help before having to steal again.

Posted by priya (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:21 a.m. (Suggest removal)

natchezsouthside are you a female with children or a father that never gave anything free to his kids or maybe a father that never wanted to pay child support!!!! dont give me that BS that you did it by yourself. Unless you have lived by yourself your whole damn life. Make sure your children give to their children like you gave to yours. I dont blame people like you. I worked hard for what I have but I know others are worst off than me. I love my family and glad they are making it on their own. but sometimes if they need some food I let them have it its hard to raise a family now adays with out the help of welfare. But my children and grand children are doing it and Im proud they are. Maybe that is your problem that your family dont care about no body but themselves. are you that selfish that you cant see when your elderly neighbor needs a helping hand even if it is to just say hi. Have you ever read a newspaper and the elderly have been left alone to die and no one knows it till its to late. Dont act like you struggled all your life. Have you ever thanked a soldier for fighting for your freedom to say and earn what you so highly want to keep to yourself.

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:28 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I don't believe in a God. So no he/she/it didn't help, I'm sure.

As for the illegals, my point isnt that they are illegal, it is that people who not from here who cannot speak english get job here. And so getting paid less is a reason to freeload on society?? Huh? That is illogical!

I didn't say multi-moms had to live in one home. But dammit they should figure out how to make it work--that isn't my job--that is THIER job.

And yes, we can help people--sure--but there has to be a limit. A LIMIT.

When are you getting your children off free/public health care? After 1 year? 2 years? 3 years? For how long will I and the rest of society pay for YOUR children to get free healthcare? How long???

Hey, everyone just needs to chill-out, and eat some fruit or something. Yes, it is sad that someone stole these groceries, but it is not the end of the free world. Times are tough, with gas and food prices rising - no doubt about it. But unlike folks in arid Arizona, or frigid Alaska, Natchezians can raise garden vegetables and perhaps put a nice poultry flock together. No one is going to starve. There are a lot of fine folks here; it will be okay...

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:48 a.m. (Suggest removal)

So you who are saying it is too tough to raise a family--expenses for food, gas, housing, clothing--so are you urging your children and grand children NOT to have children?

Are you telling them that the times are too tough and the cost is too much so don't get pregnant? That you and your pocketbook and me and OUR government cannot afford to feed and house and clothe them?

Posted by ntzmom (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 11:56 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I was simply saying that whoever did it, if he/she was doing it to feed hungry children, that it is sad.
I am just very tender hearted.

Natchezsouth, our government as we know it, say it is a long process to correct a problem that it has become a burden for the tax payers. What was once a God send for poor people is now a very much abused system for the lazy no-gooders. When the system was set up to help the poor years ago, was when families had more pride than stay on the system, so they only needed it for a short time. That was way back when parents taught their children to have pride in themselves. The government has made strides to correct the problem but much more is needed and they are aware of it. Just here in my apartment complex we have three generations still on welfare and food stamps with the word 'work' not even in their vocabulary, if they have much of a vocabulary other than dirty street talk. Get an education, forget that! They are too darn lazy for that. How long will it take, not even the government heads know. But they are aware that it taxes the rest of the people unnecessaryly.

Natchezsouth, I just scrolled up to your blog where you stated you do not believe in God. Please reconsider for He holds you very dear as His child. He gives you the privilege to chose as you want to do, but please reconsider the choice you have made. He is a very loving and forgiving Heavenly Father who loves you even more than you love your children. I hope someday you will understand this.

God is ALL knowing and sovereign and I thank and Praise Him everyday, my family and I are able to sustain ourselves, remaining in the right side of the law! There have been times that I KNOW for a fact, my husband and I were only able to make it, by His grace! Yes, my husband and I get up, go to work, when it's time for fun and leisure, we do that as well. But make NO mistake, it's all due to the strength God gives us, to keep pushing on. Believe/not believe what you may, that's not my call, but without God, we could do NOTHING.

Posted by momoftwo23 (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I never said that it was right to put immigrants to work and not our own people but it happens everyday!! I do believe there needs to be a limit to helping people but not a limit on helping CHILDREN who have no means of helping themselves.

As for when I will get my children off of free healthcare:
Not until I can afford other means. My children WILL NOT go without healthcare and a way of taking care of them when they are sick.

Also, I am a single parent and their father does not pay child support. If they would lock those kind of men up for a little while then when they got out maybe they would pay some. If they would make some of these men pay maybe so many people wouldn't have to count on others for help.

I've worked to raise my kids but it still is not enough money for their healthcare.

Maybe Natchezsouthside, one day you will have to depend on someone else because you never know what may happen in life and then you will realize why some of us can't make it without help. I will be praying for you...

momoftwo23, they should lock those non paying dead beat dads up.
I am glad you are getting health insurance for your children!

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 12:41 p.m. (Suggest removal)

First, save your religious missives. It seems rather arrogant for u to tell me what I need when I ask for nothing. You just stick to what you believe and I will do the same. I don't begrudge your beliefs. Don't begrudge me mine.

Second, to the person who called me self rightgeous etc, why? Because I ask for how long someone will leach off society? Because I think that the freeloading graveytrain doesn't run a lifetime? Then yes maybe I am, because I don't think my tax dollars should pay for free food and housing for the able-bodied until they get damn good and ready to get off the dole--if ever.

momoftwo23--sorry but saying you will keep your kids on public healthcare forever is part of the problem. No one should get anything free forever. They are YOUR children. Not mine or my neighbor's. And WE shouldn't be paying forever for YOUR children.

Go to court and sue for child support. That is what family court is for. Go get HIM to pay rather than making me and everyone else pay. Don't be so greedy.

Natchezsouthside, my sorry step son owes his wife over 20,000.00 in child support and he will NEVER pay her. Nor will he go to jail it seems.
My ex husband, he paid me about 500.00 in total and everytime I took him to court, the judge LOWERED the amount...he never paid me.
Thank GOD I married a good man that stepped up to the plate and helped me provide for my child.

The court system does seem to help the moms I know...so momoftwo, do what you have to do honey. And keep your babies insured!

For you ntzmom, THANKS VERY MUCH for your support. At least you understand!!

For you natchezsouthside, I have sued over childsupport and still dont get anything. I cant go hold a gun to his head and demand he pay.

Also, I never said I will keep my children on it forever but I did say until I could afford otherwise. I pay my taxes also. I dont complain about it. It does not matter if NO ONE was on welfare the government would be taxing for something else you would still be paying for then you could gripe about that.

It's all about being in America if you dont have the heart to pay your taxes to at least see the people who need help get it THEN MOVE!!!!!!!

And just where do you get being greedy from?? You know nothing about me nor how I am?

You think I like having to ask others for help NO but it's all I can do for now.

Like I said one day it will come your time where you will have to ask someone for help whether it be in a year or twenty years you never know. THen you will be able to understand and you will find yourself hitting your knees praying to GOD! I do pray for you and hopes that God touches your heart and sends peace and joy into your life instead or selfishness and selfcenteredness. This life is all about helping others. You get a lot further in life. One day you will realize that! You have alot to learn in life my dear friend.

Thanks ntzmom. That's exactly what I dont understand. The government wants to gripe about all these people being on welfare when in reality they are the ones not making the dad's pay.

As for natchezsouthside, I know what I owe to my children. They have a hard time garnishing someone's wages who never works and then runs when they try and find him. Just like I said before you haven't a clue.

When one becomes an adult one prepares oneself for the good and the bad in life. There are very basic ways to do that. Given that there are zero guarantees in life, preplanning is essential, no?

Surely you don't need me to spell that out. I'm sure you have done the same.

However, why are you putting words in my mouth? find anywhere where I said they should starve?

You shouldn't lie. Its a sin.

my goodness! Such judgement!

Isn't there something in the bible about not casting judgement?

swapmeet- you are pathetic, I hope you get caught and go to jail. I hope you progress in your criminal action and come to my house to burglarize, I will send you on to the Lord for judgement.

I wish you guys would try to stay on subject here. All this talk about welfare and all is a bit foolish. We all know there are those that need help, and help is out there, plenty of it. All you have to do is ask. The liberal Democrats have made sure that any sorry looser can receive plenty of handouts. Yes it takes time, but beggars cannot/should not be chosers. Just go to work and do something good for somebody please. You will learn that happiness and success is possible, just work for it. Begging is actually a lot harder work than a regular job.

I think this idiot that broke into the Food Bank was looking for something else and took the food just cause it was there, I'm sure he was hoping to find some money. NPD will get him sooner or later.

Teach4peace- you are right and don't falter, stealing is wrong and the high cost of gas is no reason to steal.

There are plenty of jobs around, if you're willing to work. Obviously this thief is able to work, but has chosen an unethical, immoral way of life. It's just a matter of time before he pays the price for his bad decisions.

It is sad the level that some of the low lifes around here will stoop to. Today I was in a restaurant, and if I hadn't been with my wife, I would have confronted a street punk concerning his profanity and loudness in public. Immorality and lack of respect for others is a basic problem around here that only good strong citizens can correct by standing up to the street punks and making them shut up and behave.

Stand up for what is decent and good and let's take back our streets and city. Beat up a punk today, just ask him to behave and when he wants to fight, give it to him and then have him put in jail for every charge you can think of that will stick. Beat him good. These burglars and thieves start out as petty drug dealers and street punks and we have to do something about it. The police have their hands tied in many regards and it is up to the basic good citizens to stand up for common decency. There are too many weak and cowardly apathetic people around. If you want the world to be a better place, if you want Natchez to be a better place, start with yourself and get stronger and be ready to stand up for what is right and decent.

Funny you should attempt to quote a book that you claim not to believe in. But I GUESS I should not judge, but be shure you will be judged one day and I would not want to be in your shoes when you are called before the Lord.

natchezsouthside I can understand what you are saying about people shouldn't stay on any kind of assistance forever. but, In the same breath the USA sends more money over seas to help those people than what is spent on assistance here.. I also am a firm beliver in assistance for elderly people. I think there medicines should be paid for in full not the young peoples. I also think they should get enough food stamps to make it through the month not the young getting enough to sell.....

As far as them stealing these grociers yes it is wrong. If they were hungry or there family was hungry so many would have helped indiviuals as well as a businesses.....So yes it was uncalled far. Then again if it was there children hungry you never know what you would do...... I would like to think i wouldn't steal but you never know when that baby is crying cause he/she is hungry.....

Rattlesnake--you say this country will be brought down by people who don't believe in God. Funny...this country was created by many who didn't believe in God.

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:05 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Quoting a book is nothing great. People quote Shakespeare all the time.

Rattlesnake it wont happen that I will be judged. My beliefs tell me that doesn't happen.

You wouldn't challenge my beliefs now would you? My my my let's hope not.

I didnt say we shouldnt help people. I asked for how long. Apparently no one wants to say, but they think i am evil for asking. Interesting.

Natchezsouthside-I am going to lift a phrase from one of your statments..."that's not my job."
I have to believe the city has enough resources to operate
a food pantry 24/7.
If they have enough money to engage in some of the frizzles (i.e. the recent remodling of an animal shelter, wasteful spending on city officals trips and going ons, etc )in Natchez...they can pay for two-three extra people to run a food pantry.

notfromnachez: I always learned that this country was founded on Exploitation, Extermination, Slavery, and Opportunism.

I'm not sure how that jives with the espoused Judeo-Christian values often mentioned.

isnt the food pantry staffed by volunteers?

Posted by fire39212 (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:14 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I don't think you are evil, I think that is a great question...I have said hundreds of times. The first question on a food stamp or assistances of any type should be do you have a job you answer no thrown in garbage.......I think 6 months is plenty of time for someone to find a job and get on there feet.....

Just like i said last week my son-in-law looked for a hand for the oilfield took him almost a week to find someone who wanted to work...They were paying 29.oo an hour for 40 hours 44.00 an hour for 44 hours 350.00 a week for perdem(sp) 350.00 a week for bottom hole pay...Ins etc....
They work 7 on 7 off....

Another thing is it isn't a felony to work more than 1 job either...

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:17 p.m. (Suggest removal)

you'd tink there would be a line of people lookng to take that job. How many people in Natchez on public assistance? 1/2 of them should have been banging on his door for that job.

I only have one thing left to say about this shameful and pitiful. One more thing Iwill still pray for you.

Well natchezsouthside trust me one even said thats to far from home to work, Even though he was feeding his family peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for supper.....It is unreal how many do not want to work or better thereselves or families....

Posted by fire39212 (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:25 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Oh yea they also get 200.00 a week for gas......So they make 900.00 before they ever work an hour...

well natchezsouthside that job fire is talking about wasnt here you had to work in texas

Posted by lookingout (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:38 p.m. (Suggest removal)

not saying that they could not live in natchez and work in texas my husband does it

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:38 p.m. (Suggest removal)

maybe it is in Texas--so what? If there are no jobs here and a good paying job there, why not go there?

People in Corporate America move around for their jobs around the coutry all the time. My cousin moved to one city and 1 month later she had to move again. Literally 1 month later. Not unsual at all.

What is more important? A job that provides for you? Or staying in Natchez and eating beans and collecting welfare and public housing?

Posted by lookingout (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:43 p.m. (Suggest removal)

o i understand that completly my family lives here but my husband makes a 7 hour drive 2 times a week so he can make a decent living for us... but like fire said he had a hard time finding a hand for that job

Posted by natchezsouthside (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 3:50 p.m. (Suggest removal)

if u feel u must rattlesnake--that's your business. I would think it more important to pray for those Bush is torturing or a child in africa being raped or slave labor in Southeast Asia. Those people are the ones who need anyone's prayers.

My beliefs will get me to where I need to be.

Posted by Kaintuck (anonymous) on June 27, 2008 at 4:17 p.m. (Suggest removal)

natchezsouthside,
I would certainly concur that your beliefs will get you where you need to be: but consider that our lives are not measured by how much we love, or can take from this world, but rather, by how much we can give, or are loved by others. We all are in need of improvement here, so I'm not picking on you; just offering a slightly different perspective...

natchezsouthside no doubt..Jobs are around if people want to them....

I can remeber the times i had to work 2 jobs to provide...So it is hard for me to feel sorry for someone that only works 1 and still whines about the pay...

thank you kaintuck i agree everyone can use a little improvement in their lives. No one person is perfect it is how you try to improve yourself and try to do good for yourself and others and not always think of yourself and your own.

Nice story? People need a place to vent sometimes. I hardly think they took it over. You can always say something about the story itself rather than put down others. I have been in a stiuation where we needed help, and I was grateful to get it. Never would I steal from those who try to help others. As for natchezsouthside, there are lots out there like him/her. They get my prayers and pity. It's a free country, yet, and I can pray for whoever I want to.

Is it just me? ....

... As you watch the flooding in the Midwest, have you noticed that there
are no farmers running around with stolen plasma TVs or holding stolen
liquor over their heads. There's no looting or yelling "Where's Bush?",
"Where's FEMA?, Where's my check?", or "Why isn't the Gov't out here
saving me and my farm?"

Likewise, I've also noticed there are no reports of any other country coming
to help or sending aid.

And where is Reverends Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton

"swapmeet- you are pathetic, I hope you get caught and go to jail. I hope you progress in your criminal action and come to my house to burglarize, I will send you on to the Lord for judgement."

Sorry that you thought I was being serious with my comment at the top of page kpage. I sometimes use flat humor to help people see how unnormal their statements are.

You also don't have to send me to the Lord for judgment or or worry about me stealing either. In May 2006, I became born-again and now my life is in subjection to the lordship of Jesus. It is not possible for a born-again believer in Christ (a Christian) to steal. If someone steals, they are just professing Christ, but they do not belong to Him but to Satan. Sorry for the confusion.

natchezsouthside- you have some good points.I think that anyone that gets foodstamps or anything from the govt. should have to take a DRUG TEST. The people that work and pays taxes have too.The reason some people dont work is because they can not pass tha drug test. I have to take a DRUG TEST to work so why not require people to take a DRUG TEST to get govt. money that I have paid in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by ntzmom (anonymous) on June 28, 2008 at noon (Suggest removal)

I completely agree with drug testing people who receive assistance.
I think the wif, the husband if there is a husband, and all kids over 12 or 13 should be tested. And if anyone fails the drug test, food stamps ect....should be cut off.

Excellent excellen post texasranger.....

Excellent post also him2her....

Posted by notfromnatchez (anonymous) on June 28, 2008 at 1:05 p.m. (Suggest removal)

It would be nice to drug test people, but it can't legally be done. They can't be discriminated against because they receive gov't assistance.

Posted by him2her (anonymous) on June 28, 2008 at 2:49 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Seems like the ones being discriminated against are the people working to make a living and paying money into the government (REQUIRED to take a DRUG TEST); which is then given to people receiving govt. assistance (NOT REQUIRED to take a DRUG TEST) --- what is wrong with this picture??????????????? Seems like the government could save an awful lot of tax dollars!!!!!!

Posted by fire39212 (anonymous) on June 28, 2008 at 6:29 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Well notfromnatchez is it discrimination for the ones who work and have to take drug test? amen him2her
