Access will be limited for Bush stop in Miss.

JACKSON (AP) — President Bush's appearance in Mississippi next week will be closed to the media and the public.
The president is scheduled to speak at noon Tuesday at a home in Jackson. It is campaign fundraiser for Republican U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, and tickets are $1,000 each.
Wicker's campaign manager is Austin Barbour, a nephew of Republican Gov. Haley Barbour. The governor appointed Wicker to the Senate after Republican Trent Lott resigned last December.
Wicker faces Democratic former Gov. Ronnie Musgrove in a Nov. 4 special election. The winner will serve the final four years of the six-year term Lott started.
Austin Barbour said Friday that Wicker is honored to have Bush's support, and the campaign event is private at the request of the White House.

Isn't it amazing how on one hand Mr. Wicker is so happy to receive the support of the other Mr. "W" and on the other hand the Barbour Family deems it necessary to have a closed door fundraiser with no press? Maybe so that the press can't record them together hugging? Perhaps these two W's are the same side of a two-sided coin with not much change.

After all of the damage Bush's policies, both foreign and domestic, have done to Mississippi, he shouldn't be allowed in the state at all.

Excuse me!!!!! You want to ban the president of the United States, but with open arms, the the double-talker, dirt spewing, two-faced Clinton is more than welcomed???? This is one for the books!!!!!!!. Even Arkansas doesn't want either of the Clintons back in their state. That oughta tell you something.

unclered...Mr. Bush's policies and those of Mr. Barbour have made Mississippi a model for how to recover from catastrophe...were there initial problems, sure, but the response was quick to correct them, unlike in Democratically controlled Louisiana.
I would also hasten to add, the total results of Mr. Bush's foreign policies have been that you haven't suffered enemy attack and both Iraq and Afghanistan are now democracies...pretty good results I'd say.
greenupnatchez...as for not allowing the press...it's a small private gathering of supporters to raise funds, there is no expectation of press coverage, nor should there be...Hillary has done it...Obama has done it...what's your problem?...a republican does what a democrat does and all of a sudden it's not ethical or fair...get real.

Obama keeps telling us we need change. Democrats have controlled Congress these last four years. I say we do need to change that.
We also need to drill for oil off of Florida and California. We only need to be green if we are free and we will not be that for long if the Dems have anything to do with it.

Sam - Iran has a democractic govt also, we used to always hear that democratic govts make everything wonderful, but what if the majority of a democratic country is set on fighting the U.S. It's not always the best solution. Communist China is where U.S. spends all its money now anyway.

I don't get either . I guess its just the same ole double standards its always been . To the democratic loyalists its okay to do or say anything and get away with it unless a Republican does that very thing and then its a different story . Sounds pretty wish-washy to me . By the way, did I hear Obama Hussien say this past week-end that we need to leave Iraq slowly. Humm! I'm telling ya'll the man is risky business.

LOL fire! It's actually uncle red - but I thought it was uncleared at first too, esp. after I read it.
I agree with all of you too, Obama is too unpredictable and wishy-washy. He seems to go which ever way the wind is blowing at that moment.

Instead of drilling for oil, maybe we could learn to be better conservationists-carpool, walk, do multiple errands at one time, buy smaller cars. Being a Democrat is not a popular thing in Mississippi or on this board but open your eyes people...George Bush or Haley Barbour wouldnt pi## on us if we were on fire and Bush has done a terrible job. This is just par for the course. Dont tear me up too bad, I just dont like some of the things he has done and I wouldnt walk across the street to see him. Most folks here are Republicans and I am a Democrat, no one is better than the other-we all want a better country, we just have different views on how to get there.
