Suspects in invasion burglaries indicted

Published Friday, July 11, 2008

NATCHEZ — Earlier this week John Thomas and Daniel Butler were both served notice of their indictment by an Adams County Grand Jury on charges of burglary.

While Natchez Police would not say they were the men responsible for the high profile downtown burglaries earlier this year, police did say they matched the description.

Both of the men were arrested in March and have been in jail since then.

Thomas was indicted on three counts of burglary and is being held on an $80,000 bond.

Butler was indicted on one count of burglary and is being held on a $40,000 bond.

Neither of the men is eligible to make bail until their arraignment on July 30.

If anyone is truly unhappy with out judge's sentencing

Call the State Attorney and our State Senators and complain.

Also call the judge, write him letters and make it known you want more severe penalties and hard jail time for criminals that deserve it.

If these guys are guilty, they deserve hard and long time for terrorizing our community. These punk thugs don't care and don't realize how this affects our community, nothing short of terrorism.

It's time we quit our whining amongst ourselves and take action, and start harrassing our judges and politicians to make them do right.

Everybody go over and say sorry to the guy you wanted to pin it on. You know who you are.

It's great that they have found someone responsible for some of the burglaries but I know who did several of them and he still isn't being held accountable and probably never will. I hope these two guys get some serious jail time.

Mcmy, if you "know who did several of them" and "he still isn't being held accountable," it is incumbent upon you to take your information to the authorities. If people do not step up, they are part of the problem, not the solution. ... PS., I'm a Natchez native who unfortunately had to leave the state to earn a living.
