Missing inmate spotted
Published Friday, July 18, 2008
WATERPROOF — An inmate who escaped from a Catahoula Parish prison was reportedly spotted in southern Tensas Parish Wednesday night.
Froilan Carrias, 44, who is described as a 5 foot 4 inch tall, 130 to 140 pound Hispanic male, escaped from the Catahoula Correctional Center when he climbed a razor wire-topped fence July 10, Catahoula Parish Sheriff James Kelly said.
After the reported sighting Wednesday night, the chase team from Tallulah was brought in, but Kelly said he did not know if Carrias had been re-apprehended.
Authorities have no reason to consider Carrias dangerous at this time, Kelly said.
Carrias was also possibly sighted in Sicily Island Sunday evening, and though the chase team from Angloa was brought in for the pursuit he was not captured, Kelly said.
As of the last sighting, Carrias was wearing khaki-colored pants and a blue or maroon shirt, Kelly said.
To his knowledge, Carrias has never been convicted of anything, and was awaiting trial for a simple rape and domestic violence charge in Livingston Parish, Kelly said.

I agree..NOT VIOLENT!!! That's HOGWASH!
If a man wants to use a certain part of his anatomy as a weapon to harm a woman (which even without death can scar her for a life time) then they should pass the "Lorraine Babbitt Law" & allow raped women to mutilate, cut off or what ever they can can do to put their MARK on then the same way he has marked them for life.
Of course that does present a little problem because there would be alot of marked men that were innocent, but heck it will teach them not to put themselves him harms way & teach them to respect women both personally & sexually.

He probably won't make it to Natchez. The old Mississippi is harder to get across than the Rio Grande. Butttttttttt,
Mexico is not sending anyone to Beijing for the Olympics. Everyone who can run, jump, or swim are already here.

They need to get tough on these criminals.Arizona has Sheriff Joe Arpaio to help us with our illegal problems.Every county needs a Sheriff Joe! There are some bleeding hearts that think we should pamper them. However, the victims of their crimes have a different philosophy! A person who is in America illegally is breaking the LAW! I hate to see Louisiana be victimized by these illegal criminals.

Yes, CSguidry, if we didn't have so many illegals, we wouldn't need so many prisons! Why should we have to live in fear of these foreign invaders? I can't believe this was listed as SIMPLE rape! Doesn't make sense to call it simple.

Whatever happened to the good ole bloodhounds they used to track the thugs, crackers, thieves, outlaws and such with.....I say hangum all. The lady said hanging won,t bring back your son, and the man who lost the son said, No but it will keep him from killing another family,s son. I think all the rapists, killers, burglars, thieves and 3 time felons should all be housed in a whatever size prison it takes in one place and never let out.Oh and make sure you put 15 rows of razor wire, camera,s and electricity on all the fences and buy some good bloodhounds so if they get away you can catch them and hang them at dawn. All crimes especially rape or breaking into someones home are not simple or harmless,I consider all that are in jail cells dangerous no matter how petty the crime, when they are not locked up,better yet ...weld all the doors shut on the outside wall have one steel door 8 foot thick with a moat and just giveonly the employees and warden a key to get in. Bring back the firing squad and so many won,t get away.
