Skippers sentence reduced to 12 years

Published Friday, August 15, 2008

VIDALIA — A Concordia Parish judge reduced the sentence of James Skipper Wednesday, who was convicted of distribution and possession of cocaine, implicated in a voter fraud scandal and has filed lawsuits against a number of parish officials.

Skipper was found guilty of the cocaine distribution charge in 2002. He was sentenced to 25 years for those charges.

After he appeared before the Seventh Judicial District Court Wednesday and argued that the sentence caused a hardship for his family, among other things, Judge Leo Boothe granted that the sentence be modified to 12 years with credit for time served.

Skipper was later named as a suspect in the 2005 voter fraud scandal in Ferriday, but was never prosecuted.

Since then he has filed a number of lawsuits alleging conspiracies between top law enforcement officials related to the voter fraud charges.

On a personal note.....maybe he should have thought about his family while commiting these crimes.

Ain't that a shame fire? I guess he should be released to slang some more...after all, his family is missing the profits.

According to the Concordia Underground, this is an attempt to get votes for Brad Burget.

John Johnson orchestrated this hearing after meeting with Skipper for over 2 hours with him in his office. Johnson recommended to the Judge that the sentence be reduced to 12 years, which is what was needed to get him out.

In 2003, he was released on Randy Maxwells request that he be given an appeal bond when he was needed to swing Black votes from Lipsey to Maxwell in the first Lipsey/Maxwell election.

Now he is released on John Johnsons request again right before an election, though he tried to blame it on Kathy Johnson.

HA!HA!HA! Yeah I agree with everyone above, the only hardship that it has cost his family is that they don't have as much money as before. I say if you are gonna let him out, then treat everyone else the same way and let them out. What makes him so special that he is above the law. I think we should shoot or hang drug-dealers, rapist, child-molesters, and murders on the site just as soon as the jury brings back a guilty verdict. Just think of the money it would save us taxpayers, not to mention, we would not have to worry about them being back out on the street to harm anyone else again.

All I can say is that if anyone gets in trouble in this parish - definitely do it during an election year!!!! You can get a "Get Out of Jail Free" card!!!

Hey everyone, go to www.concordiaunderground.org and check out "james skipper's letter to tcu". It talks about deals that he made to randy maxwell and gene allen to help him get out of jail a while back.

That is www.theconcordiaunderground.org

Check out the Skipper Case File while you are there too. It describes evidence against Boothe admitting he has Alzhiemer's.
