I have a can of mace. It works. There's one dude in Natchez that will tell you it works. He won't ever fool with this old woman again. Don't believe that all old folks are defenesless. I'm a living example that an old woman will fight for her rights. After maceing them, tie'em up and use a baseball bat on'em. Make sure they're awake and know it's you that's doing the avenging. My policy; don't mess with me and I won't mess with you.
Do BB guns count? If so, then yes. However, I do have a pitbull in my house. Don't think anyone would want to break in.lol He is a gentle as can be, but I think he would protect his family if someone did try and break in our house.
I keep my 357 magnum loaded under my bed, my 9mm loaded in my truck, my 22 magnum loaded in my pocket, and assorted other loaded guns scattered throughout the house(NO CHILDREN). I am never more then 1/2" from a loaded gun. Paranoid, no prepared.
I didn't have my weapons loaded until a few months ago when I became aware of the spike in violent crime. Might as well not have a weapon if it is not in ready mode. You cannot tell an intruder, "waite, let me put my Barney Bullet in my pistol before you attack me!"
i have both!! the loaded ones are the bb guns we got the boys for christmas this year lol!! the unloaded is the 2 nines we now own!! but don't think the clip isn't but a grab away from them
I keep my 22 pistol by the bed, son has a baseball bat, daughter a can of mace, and 2 loaded shotguns in the living room. We taught our kids very early to always respect guns, always treat them as loaded, and never point one unless you planed to pull the trigger. We used to take a milk carton filled with red koolaid, put it in front of a white sheet, and let them shoot at it to get a real idea of what gun will do.
I would hold my Glock on the intruder. Then I would Tase the SOB from 15ft away and while they are incapacitated I would call the Natchez Police. At least, that is what I would like to do.......Who knows when your adrenaline is pumping?
Guns in the house: looks where that leads: to a husband accidentally shooting his wife. How pathetic. Welcome to the South and to the Bible Belt: where good Christians are taught "thou shalt not kill" and to "turn the other cheek" and where there are more churchgoers that anywhere else in the nation and yet more people believe in captial punishment and "shoot first, ask questions later." What a region of hypocrites. Jesus would be appalled.
I would rather continue praying in 10 years instead of others praying at my funeral next week. Jesus did not live in a time of 9mm/S&W/Glocks. I will turn the cheek to many things but not to home invasions. Sometimes you just have to do what is right for you and your family, and there will always be mistakes and accidents.

Where can you buy tasers in Natchez? I want one for my
car and my home.

A taser won't do you a bit of good if the intruder as a gun.

What good is a gun that is not loaded. If an intruder pops up, then just scare him away with the clicking sound.....NOT

When my wife and I are sleeping, I have a 12 gauge riot gun stoked with 00 Buckshot within reach.
We have an empty nest so I don't worry about our sons. Besides, they were raised around guns.
