i for one LOVE TUBING AND FISHING!! and i have always thought the st. catherine was just an amozing place to beign with! my uncles have found many arti-facts along those waters!!
In a May 06 print edition they talked about this and showed a map. I visit this creek about 5 Xs a week and it always has puddles of psychedelic water,it gets nasty in the dry season.Forget the artifacts they will be underwater and what about toxins?
I think the johns manville plant used the creek for a dump cuz it's full of tile(asbestos)roofing and if you see the creek behind highland blvd it has entire cars half buried in it. And what about when the city allowed the dumping behind the water plant?
No the graphic is not online it was front page news in 2006.it was a picture of the map showing the spillway locations and about what land would be consumed by water.it was the only i bought the paper that day.
1977 Johns Manville was dumping everything in the creek. Bales of wire, pallets, rejects from the plant, general garbage. Later years when they were shut down from sending sewage all the way to Miss. river vie 4ft line through Bellwood CC. They had sewer ponds that ran over into the creek. But there was good paying jobs!
it was either the May 19th 2006 or the June 16th 2006 story that showed the map (front page in print).I would just like to see the map not a picture of the map i would like to know who has the copy of the map and where i could see it.

It would be nice if the ND would publish a drawing of the proposal.

yeah, gemccull that would be nice. It's a big dream tho' that takes a lot of time and money. BUT THINK OF THE REVENUE it would bring to the county.

Anything that sounds too good to be true usually is! Let's not get our hopes up to be disappointed.

I hope it creates a pool/lake behind the house.
It would be interesting to know how many acres will be flooded and what the pool depths will be.
In addition to canoing, there might be some good fishing if the engineers figure out how to control the water during heavy rains.

What day was the graphic in the paper? I will try to get the ND to run it again or make it available on their website.
It would be a good picture to have on their Adventures Page in the sports section.
