The mayor should be someone that will clean up the Police Department. Then I can drive through town again and save gas. I vote Glen.

I'd still go the back way if I was going to the lake. The speed trap was there well before Gene Allen's time.

Well, it seems some real intelligent comments have been spoken on this subject the last few days. UNFORTUNATELY, they have not been seen in this forum...lol...

The rest of us may know that Ferriday needs a new mayor because we have seen the corruption, but I seem to recall that Charles Evers was mayor of Fayette for years, even though many knew he was a crook. It is because of ignorance and uneducated people voting just because they have the "RIGHT" to, according to the Constitution.

I wish Ferriday the best, but I am afraid they will follow the same old tired path they are on now because they have eyes, yet do not see!!!!!

WAKE UP!!!!!!

Ferriday is ugly and nasty. I'm ashamed to even drive through there. redusmfan Uncle Charlie used to have an ambulance service in Jackson I heard long ago. He would fill it up with moonshine, turn on lights and siren, and deliver his booze all over Hinds county. He called for a boycott in the 60's in Fayette and then opened his own grocery store. When the townfolks saw his prices were too high and they drove to Natchez to buy groceries, he would have them beat up by his thugs. He was a lot smarter than his modern day counterparts.

Voting for the current mayor is like voting for Owhampy if he were to be nominated!

I really don't see what was so great about Glen when he was in office. He didn't do anything for the town of Ferriday. But, all of a sudden when he went to Vidalia he stepped up and did something for Vidalia. Glen does not care about Ferriday, he's just looking for a title. Anyone who is totally honest with themselves can look back and admit that. All he did was leave the town in debt. At least Gene has managed to get the town out of debt. I say re-elect GENE ALLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glenn's terms as Mayor weren't back to back terms. He went behind two different mayors. The last one being Montgomery, the town's debt was due to that administrations embezzelment. Glenn did bring the town's debt down to appx $300K . He did this without having to break the backs of the people with an over zealous writing of traffic tickets. The grant to fix the water in town was already applied for and came in after Gene was in office. So why hasn't he done anything other than add enough chemicals to make it barely safe to drink?
There is a web site anyone can go to and see for themselves the Audits for the Town of Ferriday, for the years that Glenn took over the office from Montgomery and for when Gene took over from Glenn.

Look for yourselves. Read the full page ad in the Sentinel, from Glenn addressing the allegations from Gene. Check for the years, 2000, and 2004. Glenn McGlothin is there for Ferriday. Allen is there to get as much as he can, to put in his pocket, before he gets the boot.

Ferriday is on the rebound and slowly becoming a tourist destination stop between the confederate Natchez hills and the Frogmore slave quarters & cotton gins. The people(black&white) with the knowledge & money, are positioning themselves to reap the benefits of Ferriday's history, for being a blues town before Jerry Lee was born. And the Delta Blues Museum & Theater were built. The people will vote and we will see who takes charge of the new Ferriday to come.

If you think ferriday is becoming a tourist town, you must be blind.

RE-ELECT GENE ALLEN #350, I will help all I can because we need a Mayor that cares about the town. I've been reading all this stuff that people been saying that Gene is bad and dont no how to treat people. Look people this man can't make everyone happy, because if he did he would have problems then. See the whole thing is Gene don't give the whites no more then the Blacks and thats the way its suspose to be. Go GENE GO

I vote Glen, all the way!

Posted by bayougranny (anonymous) on March 8, 2008 at 9:55 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Delta Music Museum & Jerry Lewis Museum are big tourist destinations. Not the town of Ferriday. Glen will take care of Ferriday because he loves his hometown. Gene has never taken care of anything but Gene. He dosen't even live in the town. WAKE UP PEOPLE! He wont even live where you live, he live's at the lake. Glen lives IN the town of Ferriday.
VOTE GLEN MCGLOTHIN!!!

Posted by bayougranny (anonymous) on March 8, 2008 at 10:15 a.m. (Suggest removal)

This is NO Black & White Issue!!!! I cant believe you even said that. Mayor Gene Allen is a crook and you need to open your eyes before you go to the poles. Glen dosen't see it as a Black & White issue. People are People are People, when and if you ever SEE that daddy79, you will also SEE whats happened to Ferriday in the last four years.
GET REAL & GET UP TO THE POLES & VOTE FOR GLEN.

Posted by Hardcorps (anonymous) on March 8, 2008 at 10:40 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Glen wants to be Kim Wilson or just somebody. Gene wants to be Owhampy but doesn't have the cranial capacity. Ferriday a tourist town.???? I'm chuckling in my skivies.

CSGUIDRY, SO WHY DIDN'T GLEN CLEAN UP THE TOWN WHEN HE WAS IN OFFICE? HE'S HAD THE OPPORTUNITY! WHAT WILL BE SO DIFFERENT THIS TIME AROUND?

Posted by RealTalk (anonymous) on March 8, 2008 at 2:37 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Ferriday is going to need some major cleaning. Glen did well enough. Gene sure didnt do much all the money he received Ferriday could be in better shape. Point blank Gene hurts the people who make the town and Glen didnt. Gene is outrages. The town was in debt when Glen was in. Keep listen to Gene crap sooner or later he will cross you. Unless your family to him or have something to give him. He could care less about anyone or anything else!!!

Posted by destiny (anonymous) on March 8, 2008 at 4:04 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I'm ashamed to see Ferriday in the shape it's in now and know I was raised there. No one seems to have any pride at all in it's appearance and that says a great deal for the management of the town. If they have any by-laws of/for appearance they have not enforced them. I guess as they say, corruption breeds contempt. And with contempt for your town there is no pride. That is so very obvious. Elect Glen to clean it up, please.

Posted by Hardcorps (anonymous) on March 8, 2008 at 5:38 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Ferriday is the Fayette of Louisiana. Homer Simpson for mayor. DOH!!!

If I want to go to Jonesville I go through Baton Rouge and back up the river so I don't get a speeding ticket.

If I go north from Natchez I start wanting to sue somebody before I get to Cannonsburg.

Both are F towns--meaning they both FAIL.

Go Glen Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need you back! Mayor Glen McGlothin He Won!!!

Posted by drawpaintsing (anonymous) on March 8, 2008 at 10:58 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Redusmfan and Hardcorps, what the hell does Fayette have to do with the Ferriday elections, and why is that people from Fayette are ignorant and uneducated? When I last checked, I was very intellegent and smart. So are my parents, and a lot of more people. Stick to discussing Ferriday, and leave Fayette alone. If you think that we are failures, then why don't you move here and try to change it.

Oh yeah, by the way, don't forget to set your clocks back.
