Hahahahaaaaaaaaaa Fonzarosa!!! You just hit the nail on the head! Ok, ok, I gotta stop laughing here. Natchez sounds a lot like Concordia Parish. I guess corruption rubs off very easily.
I wish yall Natchezians much luck in this election. I want your city to shine!!! A good hunk of my roots are planted in your fair town, of that I'm proud to say! Best wishes, my Natchez friends.

The manner in which Mayor West handled the over 59,000 evacuees of Hurricane’s Katrina and Rita that sought refuge in Natchez is one reason they wanted to make Natchez home. Our crime rate when down during the disaster. No other city that responded to the disaster can make such a claim.
Look back 4 years ago when there were actually bumper stickers that stated “Last one to leave Natchez, please turn the lights out?” Remember those? Things here were bad.
What has happened, the unemployment rate is cut in half, 4 new hotels, 2 new entertainment projects, almost 200 new businesses and on and on.
Please do not give Mayor West all the credit for bad things and no credit for the good things. Give the Mayor the credit he is due.
Vote your conscious!

Hell ya'll ! I can't help but wonder if President Bush had been a black man if his accomplishments during his presidency would be noticed ? Probably . And I know some excellent black gardeners and I have never seen a black person have a problem with an all black organization. So why not start an all black garden club ?

Just some of the many things President Bush Has gotten done while fighting a Democratic Congress :Banned Partial Birth Abortion ,by Executive Order , reversed,Clinton's policy of not requiring parental consent for abortions under the Medical Privacy Act ,Requires states to do criminal background checks on propective foster and adoptive parents , Signed two income tax cuts , one of which was the LARGEST dollar-value tax cut in WORLD history ,killed Clinton's "ergonomic" rules that OSHA was about to implement: rules that would shut down every home business in America . I can go on and on with this so please , for your on sake , do a little research .

hitormiss are you saying there are 200 more businesses in Natchez??? The unemployment down has to come from unemployed people moving away...Funny thing those hotels come with people from out of town to build them..And right before election...funny huh??? Just look at ilse of capri seeking a out of town person to manage there...Yea that should help natchez......

Well, Southernbelle, what would an all black garden club raise? You feel like it is all about black and white? Please tell us more...I am waiting.

Just Kidding southern belle. I know you are a conservative and so am I . Just please do not give them any rope to try and hang you with in this forum. I do not believe that Natchez is so much better off than it was 4 years ago. I come to town and still see a lot of empty houses and businesses. I remember when Natchez was a force to be reckoned with.
But those were the Glory Days of old....Have a great evening and be good. i am heading out and going to have some fun with the kids before church this evening.

Yes, there have been 200 new business openings in the last 4 years. They include 4 new hotels and 2 large entertainment project among others.
The unemployment rate is figured only on the people that live here. People who have moved have nothing to do with the rate.
The unemployment rate has been cut in half.
No, the people who are working the hotels are people who live in Natchez. Projects that started a year ago are finishing now. As for the Isle, large corporations move their people around a lot.

Where in the world are these 200 new business located and what are they doing?
Posted by redusmfan (anonymous) on May 4, 2008 at 7:01 p.m. (Suggest removal)
They are underground businesses...they are in the dungeons where the blue-hair brigade carries all the people that try to change anything in the hysterical district...lol...
Did you not see them when you were carried down there and flogged for painting your house without permission?....lmao

According to this poll it looks like the election is already decided. Folks might as well stay home on Tuesday. Maybe it will be a good fishing day. I hear the catfish are biting.

If you live across the river, just go to your local ditch and cast a hook. It will be easy to catch a catfish...lol...wish it was that easy to catch a good honest politician...

redusmfan, I ain't no flatlander. I sit up here on the hill and wait for a democrat candidate to walk the neighborhood and ask for my vote. And so far, that kind of fishing has been awful poor. Maybe I should have cast a 5$ bill out on the sidewalk for bait?

They are all public record.

Would you please point us in the direction of this "public record"? There is a big difference from someone taking out a license to sell, or establishing an LLC (we did that recently) and actually starting a business.
